What to wear with this skirt?

I've had this skirt for years, and I know it's no it any way on trend, but I love it. But I hardly wear it because I never know what to put on top. Any ideas? White t-shirt? Try to match the brown?

I'm 41 and a size 12-14 if that makes a difference.

I think this would look nice with a black or marl body suit, black tights, black boots and cropped cardigan for the autumn.

Wooly jumper? White shirt and waistcoat?! Denim over shirt and vest top. Band t shirt

Plain black top? V neck?

Brown (matching) or white vest/sleeveless top (not spaghetti straps, the wide kind) and plain sandals or maybe, if it’s your style, boots. It’s pretty summery, I don’t think it will work with tights, jumper etc nor do I think it will work with black.

That’s a summer skirt, I definitely wouldn’t wear it with tights and boots as I think the style and fabric would be totally wrong. Too floaty.

I’d try and match the brown with a fitted tshirt or vest and some tan sandals. Just simple summer casual.

It just screams Phoebe Buffay to me and she’s very autumn vibe- maybe that’s why I can’t see it as a summer skirt 😂

There are loads of brown waistcoats in the shops at the moment, you could definitely find one to match the brown on the skirt. Or a simple white tshirt.

That would be a colder weather skirt to me. So tights, boots and chunky jumper.

Thanks everyone! It's quite thick cotton so I guess could work in any season in that sense. From the replies, I get the impression I'm overthinking it and need to go with something simple. Thanks again!

I don't see that as a summer skirt at all.

A draped at the top top that then cinches in with folds. Black.

Surprised at all the recommendations for white. I'd go brown or black or, if feeling more adventurous, burgundy or burnt orange - maybe even deep gold: colours that are kin to the chocolate brown and will complement the green background.
