So I fell into the rut of dark boot cut jeans and striped Breton long sleeved tops.
Coloured t shirts and trainers or crops with sandals.
The odd dress.
I'm a size 10 - 12 and 5- 5.
I really want a bit of a revamp and don't know where to start.I usually get next, fat face or white stuff bits.Help.

@KaristyleafteaA jacket must balance leg length so fairly short. Straight or shaped according to what suits you. Leather or fabric biker jacket or similar works.

Wide legged silk pants, camisole, sandals.

@Floisme would you mind sharing what footwear you've got? I've never been overly into shoes, boots etc and struggle to find things I like/ work with my wardrobe. I lean towards plain & functional ( hopefully in a good way!).

Sorry @bumsntums I missed your post yesterday. I got the Grensons Ella boots in their sale. Like you, I'm normally not that interested in shoes and boots but I'm quite fussy about what I don't like (no heels and not trainers). I normally wear Solovair but I wanted some that were slightly less chunky but still flat and robust. It's taken me a couple of years (and a couple of cheaper buys that were a false economy) to grasp the nettle and pay up.

The cowboy boots I don't have a link for but the brand is Zoe.

I don't necessarily agree with this. Slim 7/8s can also look good with a slouchy, single breasted blazer too.

Love these. I have similar pairs from Seasalt of all places, in black, tan and burgundy. Must admit that I tend to favour DMs over them now, since they've started making the lovely soft leather ones that don't need breaking in!

RampantIvy · 05/08/2025 08:59

I don't have the clothing budget that a lot of PP on this thread have, so my go to shops (I really don't like buying clothes online) are Uniqlo, Seasalt and M and S.

I have a couple of pairs of wide leg joggers from Ninepine that were £££, but are brilliant (I did take a gamble with these as they are only available online, but I'm so glad I did). They are pretty smart looking and don't look like jogging pants.

Floisme · 05/08/2025 09:05

I think Seasalt get an unfair press on this board. I don't like their prints and their trousers don't work for me but I think their linen, cotton Ts and knitwear can be decent. (And I'm now wondering if I'd considered their boots before shelling out for Grensons but I'm not going to look!)

I don't like most of their prints, but it is worth looking at because there are some gems. I really like the quality as well.

I'm also later 60s, 5'10 size 12-14, also not a huge clothing budget, I wear Levi jeans, 501 or ribcage. Seasalt, I especially like their Crackington cords. Josef Seibel boots and sandals as they seem to fit my size 41 feet best. I have got some nice Seasalt boots but unfortunately they don't do boots and shoes anymore.
