Can anyone recommend a dress a bit like this….

I have a couple of events including a wedding. I really like this blue dress but need to wear a bra - 36/38DD/E ish. So it really doesn’t work.

(these were linked on another thread)

i also like the black one but I think a high neck is officially wrong for my shape. Even though I often wear them I would like something flattering.

i don’t wear a lot of colour but if I do it’s usually red which I would rather avoid for a wedding. I like solid colours rather than floral midi type dresses. But would like you look feminine.

budget about £150. Haven’t worn anything short in years,

You might find a similar blue dress with thicker straps or built-in support from brands like Phase Eight or Hobbs. For the black one, try a v-neck or wrap style—jewel tones like emerald or plum are flattering, wedding-friendly, and within your £150 budget.

Lots of helpful suggestions and feedback thanks

its odd because I know wrapover styles are always recommended for my shape - broad shoulders/big boobs. But they always feel so frumpy on. I’ve tried them a few times.

Im not a big fan of patterns but have seen a few ideas looking at brands recommended. Phase eight has some possibles although they are very weddingy. Like Reiss too.

i want wedding-y but normal which is a contradiction

I have liked a couple of black and white dresses which is a start!

Honestly the dresses you picked yourself are nicer than most of the alternatives.

Totally get the “wedding-y but normal” struggle! Wrap styles never feel right on me either, despite the recommendations. Glad you’ve found a few black and white ones — sounds like you’re getting closer!
