Where to wear the belt?

I'm an apple shape. Big boobs, good legs, no waist at all. I've found 2 lovely dresses in my wardrobe, both of which would be suitable to wear to a wedding in Sept BUT they are button down the front dresses with a thin belt in the same material as the dress. I've tried them with the belt tied at the front, at the side and at the back and I look like a sack of potatoes! I've tried it a bit higher and a bit lower than the belt loops and I still look like a sack of potatoes 😂 Any advice on belt placement would be really appreciated as they are both gorgeous dresses.

Take the belt off and use a wider one in a different colour.

Self tie belts are the work of the devil, you're absolutely right. They nearly always look crap, they crumple up, the loops are usually in the wrong place and in my experience, are much too high up. I often end up removing the loops and tying it where I want it or using a different belt - or getting rid altogether.

If the dresses need a belt then look for one in decent leather in a coordinating colour. Experiment with widths and buckles and think about the overall mix of colours for your whole outfit.
