Curly hair cut in London

DuckDuckTruce · 30/07/2025 16:45

Hello, could anyone recommend somewhere in London (Central, East, North would be preferred) that cuts curly hair? I’d prefer a dry cut if possible. My hair is fine and has some curls and a few coils but mostly is waves, it’s different all over. It’s mid length.

Or any recommendations for somewhere that does really good cuts. Not a chain place. More like vIdeal Sassoon for waves!

I’ll pretend money is no object.

Thank you in advance.

The Curl Bar in Bounds Green or Unruly Curls in Clerkenwell.

Yep, Unruly Curls is great.
I used to go there when they were based in White City before I had my DS (they've moved to Farringdon now).
Would still go there but don't have as much free time now so I've found a hairdresser I like at Bluetit Streatham.

DuckDuckTruce · 30/07/2025 20:07

Thank you. I might try unruly curls then.

Yep - agree unruly curls. I went there for a bit until I finally found somewhere local (and cheaper) that I trust. I particularly like that they recommended affordable products for day to day use that really work for my hair - I’m talking like in the £5-£10 range that I can buy off Amazon- and I still use them!

I haven't been myself but I know lots of people rave about Curl Talk near Brick Lane (on Princelet St).

DuckDuckTruce · 30/07/2025 21:26

Brick Lane is handy too. Thanks.

Ravi at Windle hair salon, Covent Garden

DuckDuckTruce · 31/07/2025 09:29

Oh, I used to go to Windle, many many moons ago, then moved FAR away. I don’t know why I didn’t think of them. Thank you.

A few to try now. Lovely.

I think I tried them all when I first moved to London. For the last ten or so years I’ve been going to https://joshhairdresser.schedulista.com.

He’s ex Toni & Guy. Highly recommend.

They’re brilliant. I have curly, coarse hair. Ravi and Paul (he is more expensive than Ravi) do a brilliant job. I actually like my hair now.

Feel Hairdressing in Berwick Street in Soho. Not a specialist curls salon but excellent for all hair/ cutting/ colouring.

Salon 64 in soho

Not been for years but Blooming Curls in Muswell Hill gave me some lovely dry curly cuts. I think the salon she works at is called Goldilocks.

I went to her a few months ago but wasn't all that impressed. My hair looked OK but for over £100 I expected more. I certainly didn't look like the photos on her instagram!

DuckDuckTruce · 03/08/2025 13:48

Ok, I’ll probably not go for the one in Muswell Hill then. I’m torn between going back to Windle, who I used to love but my hair was straight then, or trying Michael Price.

Can I ask where you went in the end? I'm trying to decide where to go...?

DuckDuckTruce · 13/11/2025 11:28

Windle. And it was a brilliant hair cut. Very pricey, but worth it.

I like Jair Santa Maria near Waterloo. Julio is great but the other 2 hair dressers are good too
