help, I hate wearing trainers with jeans, and I have casual comfy ish shoes for when it is warmer (clarks air ones), but what do you wear when it is raining, you need to wear socks, but not boots?
Are Skechers just for kids, cos they feel like trainers but look like shoes?
Oh god am not old but work on my feet all day, so have to wear comfy shoes when shopping etc too!

I've been on the prowl for shoes like these for a couple of years Haven't really discovered anything, everybody I know always points me at those pump things, but you can't wear those with socks.

Clarks have some really nice shoes and one day, I will manage to get in there and actually buy something.

PinkChick · 28/05/2008 11:00

go on sketchers website, ive just got some very very comfy wedge slip on sandle type, £25, lots of funky colour/patterns!

Jodee · 28/05/2008 11:09

Pinkchick, can you do a link to the ones you mean pls?
whitetulips, IKWYM, I have some nice Clarks Air (white) shoes to wear without socks, but on a day like today I had to resort to boots (and socks) again.

JeremyVile · 28/05/2008 11:09

Converse?

PinkChick · 28/05/2008 11:16

www.skechersonline.co.uk/womens-skechers-spinning-c-576_599.html this kind of thing, theyre not very high and ARE very soft and comfy(kind of wooden looking but rubbery spongy sole)..lots of diff styles in Shuh! and only £35 there or you can get from USA and pay about £10 plus shipping!

ItsNotOnlyTheGoodBits · 28/05/2008 11:28

I got these a few weeks ago and love them to bits. There isn't a huge choice of colours on this website, but I got them from the shop and they had lots of nice colours. Not too trainery looking either. Here

whitetulips · 28/05/2008 11:37

well I am glad I am not the only one who struggles with this
I don't want to slip into 'old lady shoes' too early, but I like to be comfortable when doing the daily stuff like shopping etc.
I do think skechers may be the way to go, but am impressed with the ecco shoes too, and wouldn't have thought of those.
Thanks everyone, hopefully this rain will stop soon, and I won't need to go and buy them at all!!

I've got these sketchers I love them and I am not a trainer kinda gal

DrNortherner · 28/05/2008 11:42

I was gonna say converse too.

cosima · 28/05/2008 11:44

wow this has been a life long problem of mine, but i don't like flats, anything with a slight wedge, oh wise ones?

Jodee · 28/05/2008 11:47

Am liking those Sketchers, Bumperlicious!
If I didn't have to go to work I would happily skip through the puddles in flipflops!

ItsNotOnlyTheGoodBits · 28/05/2008 11:49

I wasn't going to get those Ecco ones, however Mr. GoodBits convinced me otherwise. Once I got them home though I am really pleased with them. The ones I wanted to get were a bit 'old lady-ish'.

Sketchers are good too and oh so comfy.

My heels have hardly seen the light of day since Baby GoodBits put in an appearance - shoes to go schleping around the Common, chasing balls in the park, stopping Baby from running into the lake is what I'm after now!

You guys have inspired me - I might now get a pair of Sketchers!

PinkChick · 28/05/2008 12:03

Sorry jodee, my post was meant to say they were £25 in shuh not £35!

whitetulips · 28/05/2008 12:04

wow, I love those bumps, I wish we could buy them for $24 that would be about 12 quid, and they are nearer £40 here

Am off to go shopping now!

RustyBear · 28/05/2008 12:17

If you just want comfort rather than style - I wear thesewith trousers at work all the time.

ja9 · 31/05/2008 20:34

leesmum · 01/06/2008 11:30

"what about these"

Kickers are fab and will last for years.

Blondilocks · 01/06/2008 14:18

I love Skechers. Have about 4 pairs of them.

Hate Converse though.

Dragonbutter · 01/06/2008 14:21

i bought a pair of those skechers last week. they look wooden and uncomfortable but they're not at all, just soft and comfy.
