My nails were annihilated. Drilled 4 times and soaked in acetone
I wanted a BIAB infill and she said they had to come off altogether. My usual amazing lady couldn’t fit me in and they were so long (collagen!) that I couldn’t get my contact lenses out or type well - long for me anyway. And so I thought one “stand in” appointment would be ok
She drilled off the existing stuff quite gently. Fine. Then told me it all had to come off. Then soaked in warm acetone. Then more drilling. The first coat of builder gel went on and burned so much I snatched my hand out of the lamp and she said to only do three seconds at a time. Then she sprayed them with something. (What??). Then filed down again with the drill and said they wouldn’t hurt any more. She then cut them with clippers (!) as I wanted them short and I could see they were paper thin and bendy - they were not bending before. I know this as one came off and I filed it and it was fine.
I’ve had gel polish on and they look ok but I am dreading what to do next. Do I get it all taken off and nurture my nails back to health?
im so cross that they’ve been destroyed. Don’t come at me with warnings about having nails done please and how it’s my own fault. I know this. I am just fearful of what they’ll be like and how to actually take this off without losing the entire finger (small exaggeration). Dramatic ? Moi?! My usual lady is the best one I ever had and nails are fine under the BIAB. I had a headache when I left from grimacing. She could see I was distressed as she kept asking if it was burning still I should have left after the first layer of builder gel. It was ok and shiny and then she drilled it back again to a Matt and rough surface and then buffed with a hand buffer. It’s going to take an age to recover these isn’t it ? Proper first world problems and I’m annoyed at myself.
i guess I’m asking for the tips on how to safely remove this when it’s grown to a point I can’t stand it - can I cut it and file down and grow it out ? Can’t face more drilling.
