Slim leg city shorts?

I'd really like a pair of black knee length shorts. All the pairs I've tried on so far have been too wide.

Ideally I'd like a tailored pair as I'd like to wear them with heels/wedges. I found a pair in Hobbs today which were great on the legs (if a little long but I could have them taken up) but the pockets made my wide hips look wider so pockets are out.

Has anyone spotted a pair that might fit the bill?

not black for shorts, hardly springlike [gasp] grey? navy?

get a pair of trousers which fit and have them shorted.

Fishie - Trousers would probably be too wide around the knees which is the problem I'm having with the shorts. I have a small waist but due to wide hips I need a size 12 which usually means the waist is gaping and the legs are too loose. I have seen women wearing slim leg shorts (Should have given chase and asked where they bought them really) so I know they do exist. I just have to find them!

Widgypog - Thanks for the tip.

I found some in Zara!

Black, slim and just above the knee. Zara sizes are a little on the small size so the 12 is perfect. I also treated myself to a pair of black satin and patent platform sandals while I was in there then popped across to Aldo (Just for a little look) and couldn't leave without buying a pair of black Gladiator style heeled sandals.

Just need the rain to stop now so I can wear them.

Icod - Your figure sounds similar to mine. If the shorts aren't slim I look like a character from Carry on Camping.

Thanks Icod. I rarely shop in H&M so hadn't thought of looking in there.

I wore the Zara pair yesterday with a black fitted top that has a really pretty detailed collar and a pair of wedges and got a lovely compliment from my friend so they were definitely a good buy. I'm going back for the beige pair on Saturday as I have a white shirt that will look great with them.
