Menopausal skin- crepey arms and knees

Does anyone have a really great recommendation for body moisturizer that helps with appearance of crepey skin? I’ve tried a gold bond retinol body moisturizer (reasonable price) for the last 4 months ish and not seen any improvement ( maybe need to stick with it for longer?) I’ve seen ads on IG for besque body oil ( sp?) which has magical before and after pics (obviously!) but would love to know what people have tried and found to work - thanks!

I use the Bum Bum firming oil which is amazing but it's super expensive so only when I go out!

I find the Nivea Q10 body lotion is fine and inexpensive for everyday use - I really hate seeing how crepy my skin is getting as I go through menopause 😫

OP - out of curiosity where did you get the Gold Bond from? It was recommended by a dermatologist on Instagram and seems pretty cheap in the USA. Disappointing that it didn’t work for you though.

I have found magic oil purchased from Temu really effective . I use twice daily. It’s available on other websites but more expensive.

Yes - we are in the US - is it not available in the uk? Maybe I need to keep going with it?!

A friend uses the Clarins Firming Body cream and her arms look like a teenagers.

It’s around £40 but I am seriously tempted - sometimes travel sizes come up on Vinted so may give it a go.

I do find body brushing then any type of body cream helps when used regularly.

Buy a few you’ll use quite a lot but it’s cheap.
Hope it works

The Gold Bond crepe corrector? It's on Amazon UK. I've just bought some. Early days yet.

Creams do nothing. I'm 63 and have lost 5 stone. My sister got me onto pilates and my skin is firming up fast. You can't just slap a cream on and hope it will magically tighten your skin it won't. You need to address the underlying muscles and structures.
My mum is 85 and doesn't have bingo wings or crepey arms. She does pilates everyday.

Oof! $78 over here - another thing to ask for for my birthday or Christmas! Thanks though this is the sort of thing I was wondering about!

Not sure it’s just exercise that can fix this as I do weights 4 x week and spin 3 x week and am pretty slim and don’t have bingo wings but the texture of my skin has changed and if I have bags over my arm ( for example) you can really see that my skin isn’t as elastic as it was as the straps pull on my skin and it looks crepey ( best way to describe it)

Another vote for the Clarins firming cream, but the Palmer’s firming body lotion is also good, and as it’s reasonably priced there’s no need to skimp on applying.

Can you recommend your Pilates routine please? Do you do a video on YT you can link to?

I checked the reel again and it was the retinol overnight cream that she preferred over the crepe corrector but I’ve found it on another site. Might still give it a go.

I agree exercise helps. Also getting the right oils in you. Olive oil, avocado oil etc

treesarealive · 28/07/2025 21:12

@bigbreakfastclubAre you really oily after using the Temu one?

No it dries in on skin. My skin has never been softer. Also I think it has kept my holiday tan

treesarealive · 09/08/2025 10:06

@bigbreakfastclubthanks. I’ll give it a go 😊
