How to do this claw-clip hairstyle?

I like that it it's using the clip horizontally, the swept in sides, and the loose "bun", but I cannot figure out how to do it, and the page won't load properly for me in any of the browsers I've tried.
The hairstyle is the one in at the top of this article, with "Claw Clip Hairstyles" on it:

The picture at the very top of the page? Well it's been AI generated, so every chance it's not actually possible IRL!

Just looks like a normal bun with the claw put there for decoration.

Do a bun and stick a claw clip on top. It's not a real photo.

You could get a similar look with a hair comb?

Aparecium · 26/07/2025 16:53

Yeah, that's AI. But I think you could make something similar.

Put all your hair in a high ponytail.
Pull the scrunchy out slightly and stick your finger or a chopstick straight down between scrunchy and scalp to create a channel. Now pass the ponytail up and over the scrunchy and pull it down through the channel until the scrunchy comes through the gap. You've created the two waves at the top.

Make a loose messy bun and attach with some twist pins or U pins.

Use your claw grip to catch the top of the bun and the scrunchy to the hair that parts to make the waves.

Not sure at what point in this you would pull out your loose bits. My hair does that automatically 🤪

I think you need to do a bun then "fan it out," then put your clip in.

I've been trying since posting and actually figured it out 😁 (yes annoyingly AI photo but totally I thought looked totally possible). I did what @Aparecium says, but made a loop instead of a pony tail and then passed that through, and clipped at the top.
A curved comb would probably be better than a claw clip.
Just doing a bun with a clip doesn't give that "parted" look at the top which I think gives more shape from the front and looks nicer (on me).
Thank you for suggestions!
