Wedding guest dress - help! What would you choose?

I need inspiration.

I feel I have looked at so many dresses that nothing looks like a wedding guest dress anymore and I feel a bit blindsided. The wedding is next week so any suggestions welcome!

If it helps I'm usually a size 6-8, and open to any ideas...

Sorry, context would help. Wedding guest at neices wedding, I'm mid 30s, not looking at spending more than £300. Height 5ft 6. I don't like pastel colours, but anything else is ok.

I'm just looking for ideas of what others might choose as I'm getting a bit dress blind and I'm sure there would be some brilliant suggestions from people on this board.

I'd start with dismissing any idea of "wedding guest dress" for starters

Yes, that is true. It wouldn’t put me off personally though. I wouldn’t worry about if someone has seen it before, but that’s just me! I’d just love wearing such a gorgeous dress.
