Lovely people of MN please help me. I am looking for an outfit for the wedding of some very dear friends. I am 46, size 20-22 and 5ft 4. I am looking for something pretty and colourful but on a strict budget of less than £80. I love blue, green, purple. I have a ruddy complexion so anything red/pink/orange is a no-go. I am conscious of my upper arms (so would like 1/2 or 3/4 sleeves) my knees (I need knee-length or mid calf, but I’m too short to carry off maxi length) and my enormous boobs (so v-neck or lower neck, anything high-neck makes me look like a buxom matron!).

I am struggling to find anything that isn’t black, navy, grey. I have looked at all the main high-street shops that stock my size but haven’t been inspired. I’d be hugely grateful if anyone could recommend any brand and/or dresses that might fit the bill. Thankyou so much!

Similar size and age to you. My go-to for sussing what I like is Vinted. With your shape (I sadly do not have the buxom option!) I'd look at wrap dresses, or v-neck tea dresses. Popsy do some good patterns and colours, though may be too informal depending on how fancy / dressy you're looking to be, but would be good with accessories. I often get asked about my Popsy numbers dress by random strangers!

Have a look at Crazy Clearance
I've had some lovely things from them

Next have some lovely dresses in the Love and Roses brand that would be great for a wedding. Try searching on the website, as stock in store is variable.

Plenty in flattering type material, variety of colours, many with sleeves of some kind, and pricing from £50-80 ish. Most are midi length so may need taken up but perhaps with a try given the pricing?

What about 091&optionColour=Ombre+Blue&pdpClick=true this?
If link doesn't work it is a Joanna Hope ombre pleated dress

Phase eight is usually good, I think a lot of their fabrics are better quality too which can be a bit more flattering.

www.phase-eight.com/product/asa-floral-dress-10007180000.html this feels like it ticks the boxes shape wise but maybe not colours.

www.phase-eight.com/product/erin-paisley-midi-dress-221901600.html I feel like this could be dressed up but also casual enough you'd get more use out of it afterwards

www.phase-eight.com/product/hosana-v-neck-dress-230658693.html maybe a bit short but gorgeous colour

www.phase-eight.com/product/clarra-floral-dress-10006790600.html love this

Personally, i would go for separates. Either a wide leg trouser in a pretty colour or skirt and a pretty top. Depending on budget a light weight jacket. This would give lots of future options to wear the outfit again, whereas I always feel dresses, particularly patterned 'wedding guest' style only ever get one outing.
