Oooh sorry another nay.

Looks like it belongs in an add in My Weekly.
Also available in peach and pale lemon ....
😝

oudle · 19/07/2025 17:46

As pp said I don't like the clash of styles.

DiscoNights · 19/07/2025 17:49

I don’t like it either and I agree it looks very “catalogue”

Mercurial123 · 19/07/2025 17:51

No it's a utilitarian jacket trying to look pretty.

DollopOfFun · 19/07/2025 17:51

No. I love the colour, but even ungathered, the drawstring is there and it ruins the line. It would be fab if it had no drawstring, a bit boxier and a tad shorter. This one can't make its mind up.

SecondSeatontheleft · 19/07/2025 18:36

I associate Broderie with summer and a shocker with autumn so it would be a no from me but if you like it and it suits you buy it.

TeapotTallulah · 19/07/2025 18:46

Nay.

WordsFailMeYetAgain · 19/07/2025 18:52

It’s lovely apart from the tie around the waist

Poppycockles · 19/07/2025 19:55

Definitely a nay.

SaintGermain · 19/07/2025 20:02

I don’t like it. It’s a blouse at the bottom and a jacket at the top.

I don’t like the colour and thirdly it looks like something from a sale rail in a supermarket .

TheFormidableMrsC · 19/07/2025 20:03

I think it’s lovely but it is a summer jacket and therefore short lived wear. I’ve got a couple of khaki jackets from New Look and TopShop that serve me throughout the year. I love broderie
and have several tops and shorts but it’s definitely limited to warmer months.

IDontHateRainbows · 19/07/2025 20:07

It loks vert flimsy, like a shirt.

A heavier material would be better

Agree that it's trying to be two different garments at once. And failing.

evilharpy · 19/07/2025 20:14

I love broiderie anglaise and I love a utility jacket or shacket, but this is the worst of both. It's really not.good, the catalogue in the Sunday papers is exactly the right home for it.

Pubgarden · 19/07/2025 21:21

If Monty Don wore lace.

Stormroses · 19/07/2025 21:24

I love broderie anglaise but not that jacket. It's trying to be utility and feminine at the same time - the kind of 'let's appeal to everyone' (ie no one) that M&S used to be so guilty of with Per Una.

AvidJadeShaker · 19/07/2025 21:25

Another nay from me.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 19/07/2025 21:27

I adore Broderie anglaise and have lots of pieces from shorts to blouses but I’m afraid this is too much How about a linen shirt worn like a jacket
Again I love linen and do this.

IndianSummer78 · 20/07/2025 00:30

If it was only going to be worn with jeans, I could make it work. I'd leave the waist loose, add some embroidered flowers to the front pockets and edge the collar in lace.

In reality though, I'd save myself the effort and just wear something I already have that I like better.

I don't like it as it is though, it's one thing on top and another at the bottom. It's currently screaming "clothes for people who bypass any form of style or fashion".

Rina66 · 20/07/2025 06:45

I’ve got this one from H & M, it comes in cream and taupe too, looks great on and no tie waist

Cheeseplantandcrackers · 20/07/2025 06:48

It could be okay with jeans, white T-shirt and brown sandals or a white sundress but not sure that it would go with much else.

tuvamoodyson · 20/07/2025 06:56

Nay, nay and thrice nay.

I bought this exact one from H&M when it came out few months ago but returned it as it felt like a shirt, not jacket.

Useful if you want to hack through a jungle and then are in need ot a doyly when you get there

I love this!!

I agree that it's a weird clash of styles.

Gettingbysomehow · 21/07/2025 13:34

The fussy broderie is too .uch it screams I wear jackets from Damart even though the lacey stuff can look nice on feminine knitwear and I have a fair bit it doesn't work on utility in those colours. And the gathered waist is a big fat no.

PeonyPatch · 21/07/2025 13:35

Nah
