Kneesuit for stiff old fatty wanting to take up regular swimming

Hello, wise people - as the title says, I am looking for a kneesuit/legsuit that will fit my size 24 frame. If it has adjustable straps and a clip-back then that would be ideal. The plan is to go swimming more regularly for health reasons. No particular budget but not sure I could bring myself to spend more than £100.

I've tried googling and have had various options pop up, and have cross-referenced with previous MN threads but it's been a while since this has been asked (at least, according to my technology capability!!) so I've not been able to narrow anything down.

All suggestions very gratefully received. Thank you very much in advance.

Do you mean something like surfwear with long sleeves and full length legs? Because that might be a bit hot for this time of year.

This is the first unitard I saw that goes to size 24. It’s surprisingly inexpensive, which may or may not be a good thing:

I recently bought this, like the good boob support, would ideally like a higher back (fingers crossed link works).

This is a good entry level knee-suit for fitness swimming. It comes up big, so may be ok if you need a larger size www.allensswimwear.co.uk/funkita-ladies-still-black-fast-legs-one-piece-black-fks077l00470#147=48

I got my swimming costume from here and love it. www.halocline.co.uk/products/molly-longer-length-legsuit-navy-and-jade

Thank you for the suggestions. Swimsuit size charts are somewhat depressing - I worry that I wouldn’t fit in to any of these!

Swimsuits are stretchy, don't worry! Slazenger make a cheap great legsuit, available in sports direct etc, all the larger and middle aged women at my outdoor swimming wear it. Comfy too.

NeedToAskPlease · 19/07/2025 05:33

An alternative would be a normal swimsuit and then swim shorts over the top.

mumonthehill · 19/07/2025 05:56

As @clamshell24 says the Slazenger one is good and very stretchy so worth having a look at. It is also cheap .

Hecatoncheires · 19/07/2025 17:15

I've ordered the Slazenger one. Fingers crossed I can squeeze into it! If not, I'll go for the shorts/swimsuit combo. Thanks again for the advice.
