Palome - Any experience?

Palome seem to be heavily advertising at the moment. Trust pilot reviews are positive. But they seem to be charging very inexpensive prices for Cashmere etc. I do like the look of their clothes but is there a catch?

My parcel has just arrived!
I got the merino wool short sleeve top in blue, which is lovely although quite big for a 14.
I also got a cream silk blouse, which is gorgeous. It's a bit strained across the bosom, but I'm actively shrinking at the moment, so hopefully they will shrink a bit!
Definitely keeping both

If you're shrinking, you'll regret keeping the already quite big merino top, you know ...

(Voice of bitter experience. Just ordered a new Sezane Will suede jacket as mine too big and will have to sell on.)

scarletwidow · 11/08/2025 15:43

@WinWhenTheyreSinging hmmm you have a good point. Maybe I should exchange it for a size 12

CatLady476 · 23/08/2025 08:29

This brand looks great! But why no size 16s? Seems very odd to stop at 14 when 16-18 is the average size for a UK woman. I would try the 14 to see if I can get away with it but paying for returns puts me off, especially the policy about regifting. Honestly, who can afford to do that right now? That message lands badly.

I am hoping they expand their colour range a tad. A few things I haven’t bought because I don’t want them in black or cream (thankfully for my bank balance, which is taking a beating at the moment😆). I’d have bitten if they had them in e.g. navy.

LOVE the Versailles cashmere jumper and the new Hortense crochet top looks divine, but am saved by the colours so far. The Ruislip dress is stunning too.

Crumbled on the Hortense top, as had failed to find something else to go with a particular skirt. Arrived today, it's lovely.

BarnacleBeasley · 28/08/2025 13:13

I blame this thread but I have ordered the Juliette top. Very excited.

BarnacleBeasley · 01/09/2025 10:35

The Juliette top arrived so I'm back to update. I got a size 10 and it's generously-sized but that is the style (oversized, drapey batwing jumper) so I think a size 8 would also have been fine but the 10 fits nicely. It's very nice and well-designed. The material is a good weight and it hangs really well. However, I think they are a bit disingenous emphasising the inclusion of cashmere in the blend (they are calling it a 'cotton-cashmere blend') - I can't find any reference to the exact fabric composition on the website but it's actually 65% cotton, 32% viscose and 3% cashmere. I think the price (£45) is fair but not exceptionally good value. I would consider buying another one in black though - I'll see what it's like after I've washed it.

There’s always a ‘composition’ tab, showing exactly what is is. (Photo attached, but will probably take a while to appear.) Seems a fair price for that really.

@WinWhenTheyreSinging ah, thanks - didn't spot that the first time as I was looking at the other tabs describing the product underneath the pictures. Anyway, I agree it's a fair price - just not that it's an exceptionally good value price, as some of the reviews claim, and the comparison section where they tell you what they think the equivalent product would cost if being sold by someone else. So far I think the price comparisons are more plausible though than e.g. Saint + Sofia, where I don't think the quality is worth the prices they charge.

CatLady476 · 03/09/2025 18:30

Caved and bought the cashmere - really impressed and no problem with returns. V good customer service and rapid refund for the first one, which was too big. Will be a return customer!

DoctorMarten · 03/09/2025 18:32

I bought the black dress (silk). It’s stunning!

Starryangel · 27/09/2025 14:26

I bought a couple of merino tops. Was initially pretty pleased, but they are a bit thin and I can see my bra through. Also worth noting that they are made in China I don't really have a problem with that, but I guess I just expected something different when their website says "We use the downtime and excess materials in the world's best studios to create small batches of Parisian elegance." Best studios in China presumably? I think I did see a disclaimer somewhere saying they do use factories all over the world, so fair enough. Despite that, I did like the designs, and would give them a punt again.

Epiduralady · 05/10/2025 20:46

I agree stuff looks nice & well-priced, but agree with other poster re returns policy.
When ordering clothes online, returns should be easy - you haven’t been able to feel the quality of the fabric & particularly with first few purchases you don’t have a feel for their sizing and how it will fit you.
You gave to click on QR code on the box lid to find out how to return & if actually says “if this feels like to much hassle, why not gift to a friend” !! Seriously, WTF!
How to actually return is also waaaaay down the list of FAQs.
Thus will deter me from ordering from them again. It’s a stupidly business model - they’ll reel people in initially but then business will fall off rapidly when people realise they’re actively discouraging returns.

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 06/10/2025 09:15

Returns really aren’t any issue, despite what they say.

Lolou1977 · 09/10/2025 15:04

I have bought some jeans and a cashmere cardigan from them and they are both fabulous! Would highly recommend. I was also a bit dubious.

More info on which jeans and cardigan please @Lolou1977 (and length to height match on jeans, if you don't mind).

Sasssquatch · 11/10/2025 11:23

Wondering if anyone had bought the Temple jeans? They look great (on the perfect gorgeous model)

llamashoe · 12/10/2025 10:08

i'd love to hear more about people's orders. I have just ordered the Madeleine cardigan in cornflower blue this morning. I'm a fan of Sezane's Gaspard (Sezane knitwear in general) so hoping this is nice. Knitwear is probably the last thing I need though. Definitely need more skirts/trousers etc for autumn/winter.

llamashoe · 13/10/2025 18:42

Well my cardigan already arrived!! Via DPD. It's really nice. I like the colour and style so will be keeping. It is definitely not as soft as my Sézane Gaspard though. Composition is similar except 40% nylon vs Gaspard 37% polyamide so maybe that's the difference in feel. I also laughed a bit at the label saying "designed in London, made in PRC". Come on guys, just say made in China... PS - Sezane Gaspard is made in Italy.

Vermin · 24/10/2025 18:44

I just bought two pairs of trousers. Opened the package and they reeked of smoke, so are going back. The sizing was also very large. Unimpressed by the cig smell- I’ve never had that even from Vinted or eBay, and the lovely scented tissue paper did nothing to hide it. Quality / feel-wise I’d put it sub- Jigsaw and Whistles and maybe just above Zara.

Blimey, not my experience at all, although as I’ve said on one thread or another I had one parcel with an unpleasant and overpowering perfume sprayed on it - but I’d ordered too big and they went back anyway. Replacements were great.

This week I’ve received and returned the Versailles cashmere cardigan in the new burgundy colour - loved the style and the quality, but I’m quite tall and it was too short for me.

Hotpants123 · 09/01/2026 14:09

Just bought two cashmere jumpers, very please with them. I am a size 14 with an ample bosom and they fit nicely. Quite light weight jumpers, it will be interesting to see how they wash,
