What is your favourite; the holy grail of t-shirts?

I'm forever on the hunt for just the perfect v-neck white T. Not too deep of a V, thick enough to not be see-through, long enough to stay tucked, and sleeves that just hit my upper arm in the right spot. This year I've bought 3 white tee's and none are just right.

If I do wear a crew-neck, it can't be to high up. Most band or souvenir t-shirts are too high necked for me, and I don't end up wearing them.

Reiss Tereza is my favourite but that's a fairly high crew neck.

I bought some V neck tees from Primark recently and really like them. The V is fairly deep and they are long enough to comfortably tuck.

I would like a t-shirt exactly as you describe. By "hitting at the right point on the arm," I want quite high and at an angle. All the t-shirts I've tried recently, have had longer sleeves, nearly to elbow, that finish straight across. These make my arms look encased and chunky, creating a block of solidness straight across my bust, to my arms, making it all look wider.
My best find for "white, not-see through, v-neck" has been from Sezane but, in an ideal world, I would go for a shorter sleeve... I think the kind of sleeve I want is no longer in fashion. Pre-covid, I had a perfect version of this t-shirt from Hush, plus the same one in a blue and white stripe. Such a thing no longer exits, it seems, plus Hush's quality has really gone down.

I also like these. I’m permanently hunting V neck, boat neck or mildly scooped stretch short sleeved tops in a long enough length. Primark ones are ok but normally only black and white and usually sold out in my size. I miss the days when H&M stocked every colour of the rainbow.

I’m permanently on the hunt for a thick cotton boatneck top that isn’t stripy. (I have many many stripy ones.) Plain ones are always thinner cotton or stretchy for some reason: I want heavyweight 100% cotton, no elastane, so that it doesn’t cling.

Look at Kettlewell for v necks, I’m impressed with mine and like the cut of the sleeves.

I don’t like white or black T shirts and I’m not a huge fan of navy either, plus I prefer long or at least elbow length sleeves. So I am screwed basically. This summer I decided I was sick of moaning about it so I gave up looking and I’ve been enjoying button up shirts instead. They also give me better cover in the sun.

(Edited cos I’d forgotten to say I prefer long sleeves)
