What colour is your hallway / lounge?

Every room in my house got painted 50 shades of grey when it was last painted 8 years ago. Literally from landings, to kitchen, lounge, all bedrooms. Everywhere. It was on trend then.

But now it’s tired and needs a refresh.
What is “in?”

Lounge is duck egg blue. Hall and landing is pink. Study is dark teal, kitchen is yellow, other small reception room is bottle green. One bedroom is two shades of green, one is grey and royal blue, one is a dark blue and one is lilac.

Main bathroom is white and dark blue, ensuite is white and green.

No idea what colours are in but I like a riot of them!

Hall is light yellow.

Bedroom 1 is midnight blue with mustard yellow.

From what I have seen colour is back in, particularly warm tones like terracotta and bare plaster, and colour drenching with coloured woodwork and ceilings instead of traditional white.
I have gone for warm neutrals in my house. It’s small with not much natural light and bright colours don’t work well.

Hallway and living room is Loft White by Little Greene, with a green in the alcoves (can’t remember colour name). Is it ‘in’? No idea and don’t care, though I think white is a classic so never goes in or out of fashion.

ShowOfHands · 08/07/2025 23:17

Don't follow what's 'in'. That's how people ended up in cold, grey soulless boxes. Use whatever colour you like.

My hallway is orange and my front room has William Morris Golden Lily wallpaper on 3 walls (fireplace and alcoves/bookshelves on the 4th).

Pinkyhere · 09/07/2025 00:05

We used the palest blue shade almost white. I (obviously) love it. It's warmed up by the wooden floors.

Pick what you love, not what's fashionable. No point going trendy unless you are planning on moving soon.

My living room is bare plaster.....i love the look and CBA painting anyways!
