I am currently using the les 4 ombres utopia palette by Chanel which I got on offer from John Lewis. It’s this one https://www.chanel.com/gb/makeup/p/151387/les-4-ombres-utopia-multi-effect-quadra-eyeshadow/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17858880704&gclid=EAIaIQobChMImqjN46yojgMV6pRQBh25AjZ5EAQYAiABEgK4-PD_BwE and I used all four yesterday and loved the look I created as normally I will stick to one or two on a normal week day.

Are you looking to replace this?

see what Chanel have in now if you like their shadows

My current favourite is Dior quint in New Look. Lovely taupes, rich browns and micro sparkles. It's cool toned and I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. I also have a few Chanel quads, I can't remember all the names, but Chanel and Dior are my go toos for eyeshadow, I have 2 other Dior ones, Romantic Voyage and Plum Tulle. I've tried the UD nakeds and hated them all, the texture, chunky glitter and hard to blend imo.

No I am not looking to replace. I try and avoid buying eyeshadow palettes as much as possible as I think singles for me at least are better value for money.

I have a Huda one and it is the only one I have ever liked

BusterGonad · 07/07/2025 05:12

I always buy small palettes, I very rarely use just one shade.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/07/2025 07:10

I’ve moved to singles because I never use everything in a palette. I might try to find a duo or quad though.

Epli · 07/07/2025 07:20

I've been using Urban Decay Naked 3 and I love it.

Quads are my favourite.

I bought a Lisa Eldridge palette 'Betty' earlier this year and love it- browny greys and purples. It was ltd edition so I don't think it's available now but her others look lovely too.

I've also got a Natasha Denona mini 5 pan palette with pinky nudes that I like.

Last year I bought a Huda Beauty and a Laura Mercier one but they've turned out to be a waste because I don't like the formula. My eyelids are a bit crepey these days so some shadows just make them look worse.

Absolutely not everyone's cup of tea but I recently bought the Danessa Myricks Light works VI The Freedom palette for a (relatively) absolute steal. It's full retail price is £142 and I got in the sale at Sephora for £51. I absolutely adore it. The colours and formulas are just something else. Granted it's not designed as an everyday type of palette but I love colour so have been wearing it on the weekends when I'm out and about but even using it as an accent colour liner for work during the week. I absolutely adore it and will be able to get so many looks out of it

I'll have a look at Dior and Chanel, maybe, next time I feel I need a treat!

I have a little Bobbi Brown one I love.
Pink, beige, brown & cream, lovely!
Perfect for subtle daytime make-up.
It has blush that I never use, though!

Livpool · 07/07/2025 21:52

I really rate the Beauty Bay large pallets. The nude and pink/purple ones are my favourite. I like a statement eye look

If you’re ok with high end the new YSL quads get a lot love.

however it just depends as they are more buttery than Chanel’s so it’s a preference

I personally find Chanel’s a little dry and hard pressed for me

Chanels can be a bit dry but I love the finish they give so they're definitely worth it imo. Years ago I had a gorgeous YSL duo, silver grey and navy, I cannot understand why I got rid of it, it was just so beautiful.

I would say out of the 2, Dior quints are my new favourite. A nice mix of shades and finishes.

On a whim I've just checked out ebay and I've bought a brand new in box replacement. I am so excited. I have never came across a brand new one before, and it was an excellent price. It really takes me back to my youth, but still wearable for my current age. It's just such lovely contrasting colours.
