Hair coloured my usual colours but hate it

I don't know if the toner wasn't on for long enough - hairdresser literally rubbed it in then washed it off.

I usually have a brownish under colour (roots?) then a T section of blonde.

But it's come out so shiny and coppery where the roots have been done esp when it catches the light. I'm going on holiday soon and it looks awful but I don't have time to go back for her to fix it.

Can anyone help?

I did have a quick dry after as I hate the way hairdressers blow dry my hair but I didn't realise the colour until I came home and washed and dried it myself. It's never normally a problem.

But it's annoying for £150!

My ashy toner is usually left on for up to ten minutes, not sure why they'd rinse it off so soon. I take it they usually leave it on for longer?

There is quite a bit of warmth still in your hair but without going back for another longer toner application I'm not sure what to suggest. Hopefully someone in the know will be along soon.

I hate coming home from hairdressers unhappy as I find it all quite stressful, not to mention the expense.

Do you think I'd come across as ungrateful if I ask for more toner?

Does toner work once the hair has been washed a couple of times?

Yes it's normally on for ten minutes. I didn't really think about it today, it wasn't my normal colour person as she was busy. But one of the most experienced people in the salon and I've been going there for years and love them all.

I'm glad you can see the warmth, my husband is useless when I asked him!

Did you wash your hair straight away?
I do my own hair dye and never shampoo for 48 hours after applying ( I was told in the mists of time the hair cuticle needs to re-aligne and if you shampoo too soon the colour leaches out .
