Stripe & Stare knickers. Worth the money?

Just that really. I'm after some soft, microfibre feel, stretchy knickers that are comfy and last well. Also, do they come up big or small? I'm a size 10 in M&S knickers, so would a Small in S&S be okay?

Honestly I don’t think so. Comfy but don’t wash well. Go bobbly. Prefer my Tu ones 😂

HedgeWitchOfTheWest · 03/07/2025 17:31

Friend of mine rates them.

I’ve been impressed with Boody

TheyreLikeUsButRichAndThin · 03/07/2025 17:51

Gosh microfibre pants sound ever so warm! Intriguing.

TheChosenTwo · 03/07/2025 17:53

I bought some of the boxer short ones, they are massive on me and come up almost to my boobs despite me buying my normal size!
I just wanted them for comfy jogging bottoms/period days - I mean I guess they do the job but I wouldn’t rush back to rebuy. Think I’ll just stick with my M&S 5 pairs for a fiver knickers!

DiamondThrone · 03/07/2025 17:53

I was given a gift set of them. I would never have paid that much for some knickers. They didn't have enough bum coverage for me, and went bobbly after washing like a PP said.

M&S all the way for me.

CortadoPlease · 03/07/2025 18:47

Super comfy and no VPL or digging in … but the flip side is there’s no compression or shaping. Mine haven’t bobbled at all, but might have faded a bit.

DiamondThrone · 03/07/2025 19:18

I just can't justify the expense.

Agree with this, very comfy and no VPL are the main benefits. I have two different types and find one type (eco ones I think they were) extra flimsy.

Thank you everyone. My Holy Grail knickers were M&S 5 pack, low rise shorts in microfibre/tencel. They were slightly trimmed with lace on the waist band and super comfy and soft, with lots of stretch. So naturally M&S have now discontinued them.

I find microfibre much more comfy because they stretch and adhere to the body. For me, cotton leaves baggy bits.

Catsinaflat · 04/07/2025 06:52

I recently bought John Lewis microfibre full briefs. So comfortable!

Yes, exactly. Even cotton knickers with some lycra havd baggy bits.

I don’t own one pair of cotton knickers, l just can’t get on with them. They don’t move with you.

FourBlackCats · 04/07/2025 15:45

I got sent a free pair from Stripe & Stare and found them flimsy and they bobbled very quickly.

fireplaceembers · 04/07/2025 15:49

M&S discontinued my fave too, the sumptuously soft full briefs with a lace back

Arraminta · 04/07/2025 18:50

Thank you, I already have those but wanted similar but in other colours and patterns.

Where do you get yours from ?

Microfibre? Ick!

Sloggis aren't 100% cotton but they are like miracle knickers. Also expensive, but last a long, long time.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 04/07/2025 18:56

The flexifit microfibre from M&S are the best.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 04/07/2025 19:00

Never had bobbling on s&s knickers at all. If i were you i would go Medium for a size 10. Good knickers and nice fit.

AndSoFinally · 04/07/2025 19:04

Are microfibres the ones that feel like the stretchy shiny scuba material? Like sports leggings?

That's the sort I'm looking for, but whenever I order they turn out to be bog standard cotton ones. It's so hard to tell what they're made of in pictures!

If it's not microfibres, what am I looking for? Tencel?

BlackCatGreyWhiskers · 04/07/2025 19:06

I love mine!

I have replaced all my pants with them. I like the night waisted ones.

willowstar · 05/07/2025 07:33

I have slowly replaced all of mine with Stripe and Stare. I love them. Great range of colours. I like the high waisted or high waisted thongs.

They often have discontinued M&S ranges on eBay I buy my high leg comfort lace nude on there
i also really rate Uniqlo high waisted, worth every penny and wash and last well
