My beloved Babyliss hairdryer has died after 17 years!!
I have a lot of straight fine hair and a budget of £100.
What’s the best purchase in my budget ?

Parlux would be top of your budget. My hairdressers use them so assume they are pretty good.

Titasaducksarse · 02/07/2025 22:25

I've a Parlux. It's great but a little heavy. I got it when everyone seemed to be into Dyson!

McCartneyOnTheHeath · 02/07/2025 22:27

£100?! I've just replaced my hairdryer, got one from Tesco for £15. They all just blast out hot air.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 02/07/2025 22:31

I read that as your hairdresser had died and thought harsh!

But yeah Parlux is the way to go

Me too! I genuinely thought, goodness, you're not letting the grass (or your hair) grow under your feet 😆

LoveFreshSheets · 02/07/2025 22:38

I’ve had my Parlux well over 20 years long before the fancy ones were a thing

Nerdynerdynerd · 02/07/2025 22:59

Read that as your hairdresser died! Came to write my condolences. Glad it's just your hairdryer 🤪

NFItheawkardness · 02/07/2025 23:04

Also was shocked at your lack of grieving for (non existent) dead hairdresser.

Are the shark ones too expensive? Amazon prime days are next week. Boots also does fab points offers for some.

Onanotherhealthkick · 03/07/2025 06:38

If my hairdresser had died that would be a very sad thing..😅.

prime day - that could be a good time to buy.
thanks for the advice, I’ve never heard of Parlux so will take a look

Ive got this cheap Dyson dupe. It's honestly better than the expensive ones I've had in the past. I too have fine hair but a LOT of it. This dries my hair quickly anf leaves it relatively soft (compared with other dryers) and not fly-away. If I had £200 to spend i would still choose this one again.

I finally chose this https://amzn.eu/d/gcWBoTt, it’s brilliant. I got it in the Amazon prime sale.
thanks for all your suggestions.

I bought a Parlux after my babyliss one died.

Ive had it probably at least 15 years - and still going strong

jaundicedoutlook · 13/07/2025 17:53

We’ve got a Parlux and a Dyson. The Parlux is much better.
