You helped with ballet pumps...can you help with long tops?

I have just freecycled half my wardrobe - after 2 babies in quick succession and breastfeeding my body shape has changed from the last time I could wear normal clothes and nothing looked good. So am off shopping tomorrow and am in dire need of tops. But they have to be long - so they can cover a stomach that quite frankly isn't what it was...ideally down to hip level. So which shops should I visit for a hit and run raid? I have an Oyster card, so can get around London...

M&S? Booooring I know, but I'm currently wearing this one which has proved quite flattering to the enormo-norks and less than toned tum. You do need bra-straps you don't mind showing occasionally, and not super-narrow shoulders though, the sleeves keep slipping.

I'm finding that Dorothy Perkins' tops are quite long, and very reasonable. I've got a couple of 3/4 length sleeve v-neck ones that I'm liking a lot atm. Their vests look good on that link.

Topshop tall is good for longer length.

Oh yes, and actually some of Tesco's tops seem quite long too these days.

I have some good tunic tops from Jigsaw - this season and last season, very similar designs but different fabrics.

Excellent work fashion sleuths ...am going to track down the nearest big Tesco and pick up some of those long t-shirts later this week. Then Jigsaw and M&S next weekend, poorly babies permitting...

I've just bought some £1.50 plain vests in Primark and they were very long. Surprisingly so.

WilfSell · 25/05/2008 21:41

I deal with the stomach issue by wearing two layers, the bottom one a long vest, of which I have many many many... tescos also sell these and Topshop, Hennes etc usually have em (if you can bear dodging the 19 year olds...)

southeastastra · 25/05/2008 21:42

the tesco fair trade tops are great, really long
