I said I would helpfully make up a 'toolkit' for a relatives wedding. I have first aid kit, sewing kit, sun cream, baby wipes for spot cleaning...
Any stuff that is obvious when it's mentioned?

M&S do some really good stain removing wipes- they’re fab. Also maybe some of those glucose sweets and something calming? Lavender spray or rescue remedy, something like that.

Doobeedoobeedoobee · 29/06/2025 21:26

Tissues, Bobby pins, deodorant, mints?

Bumpinthenight · 29/06/2025 21:28

Those gel heels for tired feet. Or even flip-flops.

TheyFuckYouUpYourMamAndDad · 29/06/2025 21:29

Gel blister plasters!

LegoHouse274 · 29/06/2025 21:31

I was going to say plasters but you said first aid kit already. Lint roller? Thinking more for the groom etc assuming brides in white. Tissues! Hair bobbles. Safety pins but perhaps they are in the sewing kit? Snacks! Lip balm. Hand cream. Tweezers. Carrier bags - every wedding I've ever been to there's been a load of unbagged/unboxed presents and the couple struggle to carry them all to hotel/car whatever without bags to put them in. Power bank.

Notupmyalley · 29/06/2025 21:37

Sanitary protection!

beforetherain20 · 29/06/2025 21:38

Toothpicks or floss
mints

ShesTheAlbatross · 29/06/2025 21:39

Painkillers. No one wants a headache on their wedding day

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 29/06/2025 21:42

Hairspray, card with local taxi numbers, probably shouldn’t but paracetamol other painkillers, immodium, pens, I also popped some sweets in mine, think they may have been refresher chews (my mum likes them and a bit of a sugar boost!), sanitary products.
for our wedding I got few wicker wine carriers (4 bottle holders) from what I can remember and did sections, ie cleaning, medical, hair, beauty! Not an anal bride or anything!

moleeye · 29/06/2025 21:46

mini deodorant and perfume top up
lipstick
face/setting powder/setting spray
crochet hook if dress has buttons
dental floss /tooth picks

eggandonion · 29/06/2025 22:11

Great suggestions! I'm just adding shoelaces for gents!

chesschessandmorechess · 29/06/2025 22:16

Antihistamine tablets and/or Piriton medicine.

FableTheRaven · 29/06/2025 22:19

Pen because someone will nick the nice one for the wedding book.

WanderingWisteria · 29/06/2025 23:55

Clear nail varnish

CharlotteFlax · 30/06/2025 01:32

Mini sewing kit, safety pins!

I ended up ironing pocket squares for the gents an hour before my friends wedding...with hair straighteners. Mini iron, if you have one or have the space?!

PluckyBamboo · 30/06/2025 09:32

Superglue - my DH's sole (not soul thankfully) started flapping at a family wedding.

Hairbobbles, can come in handy to keep trousers together if buttons fall off.

Mini hairbrushes.

Needle with thread in navy, black and a neutral, light beige or gray works well.

Dental floss

(And, ear plugs if someone like my MIL is going "oh, the music is too loud" and repeat for 5 hours....)

eggandonion · 30/06/2025 12:36

I have a similar mil...thankfully not a guest at this one!
I'm thinking duct tape might be useful for many purposes, and wd40.
I also thought I'd see what otc medication I have to save buying new stuff...a large percentage is past use by date by several years.

OP posts:
FlatWhiteOrLatte · 30/06/2025 13:16

Body tape and snacks!

eggandonion · 30/06/2025 14:03

I have seen the menu...and added doggy bags to the list!
And cough sweets there is always a cougher.

JoshLymanSwagger · 30/06/2025 21:56

Nail clippers and file - something to tidy/fix a snapped nail. Tweezers.
Eye drops in case of stray confetti.

Are you putting all of this in a big holdall or a plastic crate and storing it somewhere?
Not sure you're going to fit all of this in a little clutchy thing. Grin

eggandonion · 30/06/2025 22:50

I have a very boring cardboard box, although a giant clutch would be amazing. I might set up a small business, and flog giant clutch hampers to unsuspecting brides.😀

OP posts:
eggandonion · 30/06/2025 22:52

I like the stray confetti removal tool. And optrex can go on the list.

I got married 10 days ago, literally the ONLY 'emergency' items used were face powder for a red nose, a fan and a power bank for a neon light. I did swap shoes for flats, and guests made use of paper fans and cooling sprays

ApoodlecalledPenny · 01/07/2025 19:34

I used the emergency sanpro at my own wedding. What a day to need it.
