Swim shorts for size 18-20

We are going to the beach these August school holidays and DS will want me to go on the water with him, so I started thinking about swim shorts and a rash vest instead of a swimsuit.

Has anyone had any swim shorts/board shorts that are flattering and not skintight? I’ve seen some on Amazon and it got me wondering about this instead - I’ve added photos of the sort of thing I’m talking about.

I already have a cover up shirt etc so I’m specifically looking for swimwear that I could actually get in the sea wearing.

This sounds counter intuitive but wearing more clothes makes you more noticeable rather than less. I mean, you should wear what you're comfortable in, but the average beach has so many women larger than you in bikinis, you will not stand out!

Land's End and Mountain Warehouse are excellent for beachy-surfy-swimwear.

Decathlon and Lands End, but they sell out fast.

Primark men’s XL, way cheaper than womens swimshorts, usually a big range of colours so you can match with your rash vest and make it look like a coordinating set and often have zip up pockets.

I agree

@Thatsrhesummeroverthen @Ninkynonkpinkyponks thank you but I would not be seen dead in a bikini at a size 18-20. Kudos to those who are body confident though but it’s not for me. It’s my preference to be more covered, plus I am fair skinned and burn easily.
