Sarong that looks like loose trousers.

I’ve just seen someone put on what looked like a strip of material with ties. She put it round her waist then sort of passed it between her legs, wrapped the ties around and tied it at the front. That’s the best description I can come up with.
It looked like loose trousers from the front and a skirt at the back. It looked fabulous.
Any idea what this garment is called?

I don’t think so, it was just a strip of material like a sarong.

Have you tried Googling how to tie sarong or lunghi as trousers/pants? It sounds like that is what she did but instead of tying the corners of the fabric, it had ties on the corners to make it easier. If that is the look you want, you could just sew ties onto a sarong.
