Birkenstock Mayaris are narrower!

Birkenstock Mayaris have been my summer sandal for about 10 years- they're perfect for my hobbit feet and slight bunion, holding my toe straight and just so comfortable.

Last year I bought a pair I just couldn't seem to get on with, put it down to a one off manufacturing difference of some sort and have just bought another pair. Whereupon I've realised, horror of horrors, that they've got narrower!

Its the wide (standard) fitting and if I hold up to an ancient pair there's about 4mm less width... every mm of which I needed 😫

Apart from calling them utter barstewards for daring to change MY shoe, please, please can I have help? I need a wider Mayari... or similar.... any ideas??

Here's the mayari so you know what I mean...

Try going up a foot size.. I am 35 in birkies regular width but 36 marrow fit is good too.

Interesting

I bought new birkenstocks in my usual size this year and they are too tight!

I bought new ones this year too having not bought any for almost 10 years. Had to size up.

Sadly sizing up no good - there's no width difference (or not enough) between my size and the next one up.

Has anyone tried Strive Nusa, or Vionic Copal? How wide do they come up? They look similar in design.

I’ve just bought these Mayari dupes from TK maxx and usually wear a standard width in birkies , they were £16 and have a leather upper very comfortable

That's definitely worth a try TheOliveFinch.

I guess I'll have to order a few options; it's just so sad when a company changes a successful formula to shave a tiny amount off manufacturing costs 😥

Sorry I have just compared them to my older birkies and they are narrower too, although fine for me so probably not the best option for you . Good luck finding a replacement
