Help me find a decent swimming cozzie for flat chested mum tum......

...before I cancel my holiday! 😪

I have a horrible perimenopausal shape. Big backside, thick thighs, wobbly constantly-bloated tum, but no bloody waist or boobs.

I want something that pulls in my belly, covers my arse properly (instead of cutting into the flesh or riding up my crack!) AND gives my modest 34B bust a boost and the illusion of a waist.

All the padded/plunge swimsuits with tummy/shaping control I've tried so far have done nothing for my figure. I'm generally a size 10 below, size 8 on top. Size 8 swimsuits are WAY too small around the arse - total no-go. If I try a size 10 it fits ok on top and gives me a slight bit of cleavage, but still nowhere near big enough in the bum area. If I size up to a 12, it fits my arse better, but the bust isnt right - I look completely flat chested. All the bra padding is pretty light and only really intended to disguise nipples rather than support and enhance a small bust.

Every holiday I feel like this and end up jumping for a cover up the second I climb out of the water.

To add:

  • Bikini not an option because I don't want my tum on show.
  • Tankini not an option because I've tried them before and they don't pull in the tum and they actually make me look like I have even less of a waist.

This is a once in a lifetime holiday, and I want to feel confident and feminine in swimwear for a change. Is there anyone else here with a similar shape who's found the holy grail of swimming cozzies?! 🙏

I would go for a two piece. Like you I’m menopausal and bigger on the bottom. I also have a bit of a tummy, big bum and a small chest. I bought a two piece in Next which fits really well. I’m a size 12 round my hips and size 8/10 on top. I got size 10 in the bottoms and a 32C/D on top. The top gives me a bit of a cleavage and is padded

What bout a 50s style 2 piece? I always think they look super flattering on

fruitypancake · 26/06/2025 22:30

Yes , high waisted two piece . The bottoms can hold you in and be really flattering !

SwimmingCozzieMisery · 27/06/2025 06:27

I do have a high waisted two piece i ordered from Next, and it doesn't really pull in the belly particularly well and seems to make my bum look even bigger and out of proportion compared to my small bust and it doesn't pull in enough to give me a waist.

I haven't sent it back as yet because I want to like it, and I've tried it on a couple of times. But I just know I'll feel just as self conscious in it. I don't instantly look at it and think, yes, that's really flattering. I just see the huge bum!

Kindly, you are a size 10-12 you do not have a huge bum. Your have a bum that is a bit bigger than you are used to but it’s still a perfectly reasonable size.

please be kinder to yourself it sounds like you have a lovely figure that a lot of people would kill
for!!

Buy a bikini top with a bit of underwire and padding, a bra sized one. Then wear it under a matching tankini top with nice high waist pants.

How about something like this?
