Anyone tried or researched PRP therapy / Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy for ageing?

Thoughts? Outcomes. Spoke with a professional who explained that it involved taking your own blood, spinning it with hyaluronic acid and reinjecting it back in to your face to stimulate own collagen production to reduce 'crepiness'.

Sounds interesting is it just a natural booster, have you seen genuine results, how long does it last, downtime and cost?

GrimDamnFanjo · 25/06/2025 01:11

There’s research online with reputable sources. Usually PRP is plasma and HA is skinboosters and they aren’t used together afaik.
prp has been use to treat joint issues and hair loss too.
i have PRP, skinboosters and microneedling.

It’s done monthly, 3-6 months required. £600/session. It’s for facial skin. Described to me as ‘natural’ - not had it done. Not seen any before or afters. Don’t know how long it lasts or the impact. Can’t use tret at the same time and recommended to do over winter due to sensitivity.

I’ve had this done, both on my face and on my vulva for lichen sclerosis. I had a definite improvement

Thank you for sharing how have your found your results with microneedling and what skin boosters do you use?

I rate microneedling for my skin. I try for every 6-8 weeks. I usually alternate with skin boosting. I have Lumi Pro which is mostly hyalauronic acid. I started doing this while I was losing weight but it’s hard to know what I’d look now without it!

From John Hopkins Medicine:

PRP injections are sometimes used as an anti-aging treatment, but there is little evidence to show that PRP reduces wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Yes, I've had it on my face and on my scalp. Results were pretty good - I'd say a good 20-30% improvement in skin/hair but they dont last. It has to be done every 6 months or so really to keep up the effects.
