I just take my normal bag as hand luggage. My current “holiday bag” is fatface - zips up for security and big enough for water, sunscreen, umbrella, waterproof jacket (hey I’m British) or my picnic blanket. I take a cotton tote folded up for my towels etc. I always check my main luggage as I had carrying on much (typically I just have phone, passport and a cardigan)
