Can anyone recommend a moisturiser that I can use for both day and night in my 50s? Thanks

Depends on your budget really. I’ve tried lots & keep coming back to the Elemis pro collagen range.

Me too. Expensive but just lovely to use!
Try and get them when they are in offer on QVC!

beryl27 · 22/06/2025 20:02

Unfortunately Elemis is far too expensive for me. Looking for something very much cheaper.

Olay Regenerist. Often on offer at Boots or Superdrug at around £15 (half price). Available with or without SPF, with or without fragrance. I choose to buy the (unfragranced) different day and night ones but to be honest I mostly use the day one at any time. Suits my skin really well.

SiobahnRoy · 22/06/2025 20:08

Lumene especially when on offer at boots, or Vichy

TryForSpring · 22/06/2025 21:07

What is your skin like?

Dearover · 22/06/2025 21:30

Welleda Skin Food Day & Night creams. Currently with 25% off in Waitrose.

fatgirlswims · 22/06/2025 22:03

Surely this depends on you skin type?

aldi q10 is good and under £2
simple 22% repairing is good for dry skin

Anjelika · 22/06/2025 22:17

Boots No 7. Either Lift & Luminate Day & Night creams or Protect & Perfect. Often available on £10 Tuesdays. Eye cream and serum in both ranges too if you wanted to go further.

beryl27 · 23/06/2025 06:26

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. The Simple 22% repairing cream looks like it might be one that I could try. It fits the budget and there's no need for separate day/night creams.

I really like the inkey list bio active repairing and plumping one it’s about £15.

I was also going to suggest this. I’ve been using it for years.

fruitpastille · 23/06/2025 06:38

Superdrug has good options. Their Me+ range hydrating moisturiser is good or there are some aimed at older skin. I don't worry about day/ night. Just use the night cream and add spf in the day.

fatgirlswims · 23/06/2025 07:51

I like the simple 22% and use that and dr Jart Ceramidin and it’s almost as good. I hope you like it. It also pairs with a serum and a face wash/ cleanser

Nivea - the one in the big blue tub. Feels lovely on your skin and cheap.

Does it have a factor 50 in?

No, it’s not an SPF moisturiser.

DifferentChild · 23/06/2025 08:23

Dermatica moisturiser is lovely, very moisturising but not greasy and spf free. You can buy it for £15 on amazon no need to subscribe. I only use this and one of their treatments every night and my skin has never been better.

Saltedcarameltiramisucheesecake · 23/06/2025 08:26

@beryl27

£3 in Lidl will get you 1 Q10 day moisturiser with spf, and 1 Q10 night moisturiser.
They are great, dupes for Nivea Q10.

Rinkali · 23/06/2025 08:36

I like the No7 Future Renew range; it looks expensive but there’s nearly always a 3 for 2/£10 off £30 spend offer combo on the Boots app so I’ve rarely paid more than L’Oreal prices for it.

otherwise the Revolution Miracle Cream is a great dupe of the Charlotte Tilbury magic cream - having tried both, I think I marginally prefer the Revolution version, plus it’s only £10. I wear it over Ultrasun sunscreen in the summer.

MissyB1 · 23/06/2025 09:12

I recently started usung elf moisturisers, the day one with spf 30 is gorgeous, thick and creamy but si ks in straight away.

OldFamilyTable · 23/06/2025 09:16

I like the Aveeno Oat Gel moisturiser for day and blue Nivea tub for night time. My skin has really benefited from
this routine.
