I have been using castor oil on my lashes- what a difference!

I know that the science says it can actually do anything but I can tell you that it is definitely doing something! I didn’t bother with it before because if was supposed to be snake oil- so to speak.
I am 57 and my once long thick lashes gave up the ghost a while back. I have used various lash serums over the years- some worked, some didn’t and they were expensive on the whole.
i smear the castor oil on my lashes before I go to bed- I don’t always remember each night.
in the mornings I recently thought I had forgotten to take my mascara off- then realised I hadn’t worn any. My lashes are noticeably darker and appear fuller.
You could say it was just the remnants of the oil BUR they are dark even if I don’t use if for a couple of days.
i wouldn’t say they are longer but they seem much fuller and darker. And castor oil is cheap as chips.

Good tip. I also found the ordinary lash serum very good and cheap

Ooh might try this when I run out of the UK lash one!

Does take a while to work but really does make a difference

BigButtons · 21/06/2025 10:37

The ordinary one did nothing for me - sadly.

It does- took about 2 weeks for me- so not bad.

I think it took like six weeks plus to work. But I got a double offer so wasn’t bothered. Then suddenly it did and my eyelashes are so much longer

biedrona · 21/06/2025 11:07

Could you describe exactly how you are applying it? with a cotton bud? or brush? How much of the oil? Does it stain pillow cases?

ColinCaterpillarsNo1Fan · 21/06/2025 11:11

Which brand/type did you use or can I just get a bottle of any old caster oil from the shop?

Fourcandleforkhandle · 21/06/2025 11:16

Do you think Castor Oil will work on Eyebrows. Mine seem to be disappearing day by day.

lostinthesunshine · 21/06/2025 11:31

Would love to see any before and after pics of anything that has really worked.

I used to have lovely thick long lashes and now they are barely there at all. Sparse and just a couple of mm long (literally).

Todaytodaytodaytoday · 21/06/2025 11:44

Ooh I’m going to try it.

Please share this info OP and how do you apply it?

BigButtons · 21/06/2025 13:14

I got this one at the end of April- if is super cheap at the moment. I literally smear some on my lashes before bed as part of my night face routine. It doesn’t stain at all. Also keeps my eye area nicely hydrated which is a bonus

Seem to having issues with posting the image. I got it on Amazon-naisance organic castor oil. It’s £4.79 at the moment. I am sure other oils are fine too. It’s thick so you don’t need much. That bottle will last forever!

It conditions the lashes. Mine are definitely darker and look much thicker . There is less fall out of lashes because they are better conditioned. I mean the oils is so cheap there is nothing to lose really. You’ll have lashes in good condition of nothing else. Win win I say!

A lot of lash serums contain castor oil. I swear by it! It goes on my face with rosehip, in my hair with rosemary and on my lashes

Pollqueen · 21/06/2025 14:06

Thank you. Ordered x

Queentouba · 21/06/2025 14:11

Yes you have to be careful of the beard and moustache too though!

ServusFidelis · 21/06/2025 14:12

The Ordinary lash/brow serum did nothing for me. I got a twin pack and used religiously for months and it didn't make an atom of difference.
Im using castor oil as an overnight treatment on my hair (fine, prone to breakage and a little frizz). Too early to say, but as it's so cheap I don't feel i'll have been misled/ ripped off if it doesn't help.

DeSoleil · 21/06/2025 14:14

I use Vaseline and have done for over 45 years on my lashes, eyebrows, lips and nails.

it’s fantastic.
