Obviously it’s in a week I just can’t get my head around the fact I’m going. I’ve been in hospital for eight weeks and I’m still working on my walking. I had a femoral bleed nearly died I had one twice in one week and had a femoral artery by pass. I’m determined to go. I’m seeing my consultant on Friday and if he says I can’t go then I will obviously listen to him. I’m going with seven nurse friends we are glamping have proper beds and everything. So, clothes? I have all the basics. I’ve hired a mobility scooter I have fairy lights. I’ve got loads of dresses and afew sequins kimonos. I think it will be hot I can’t be in the sun (I have cancer on top of everything) I have two massive wounds that are dressed on my legs so need to keep them safe.

time is running out so if you have any ideas I’ve probably dropped to a 14 still busty. I have my Sunday Rod Stewart out fit ready. Amy thing else you’ve seen?

I have no advice not being a festival goer but just wanted to say I hope you have the best time!

EachandEveryone · 19/06/2025 13:14

Yes today is actually the first day I’m looking forward to it. I just don’t know what to tell the district nurses when I say I’m going away for a few days and could I have some dressing packs, please?

Just wanted to say I hope you get to go and have a great time. Guess layers are important and maybe a big rain poncho although forecast looks good!

Don't ask permission. You tell the nurses (and the consultant) that life is for living and you want to do this - and how are they going to enable that. That should set the tone for a more proactive approach to helping you .

Honestly sounds like life has been pretty awful for you and I hope this works out for you. You sound like you have the right attitude - and it looks like lots of friends to help out and support you - so that's a huge plus!

A sun umbrella might be useful - as would a festival cowboy hat! Or a very big floppy straw hat with a wide brim can give you lots of shade. You could pimp the scooter somehow as well.

Temporary tattoos can be fun (lots of cheap kids sparkly ones on Amazon) - just take a flannel for putting them on. There are some quite fun sparkly freckles ones. Or any shimmery makeup - metallic eyeliner etc.

A bright large rain poncho is useful - and they double as something to sit on.

A colorful button through shirt dress can be good - as they can also be worn as a jacket over an outfit.

I'm a size 14 too.

EachandEveryone · 19/06/2025 17:59

Did they fit ok?

I can't help on outfits but just in case you don't know, there are excellent medical facilities at Glastonbury, considering it's all in fields. I'm sure they would change your dressings for you if needed. Obviously your group is well qualified to do this, but the medical tent will be cleaner!

I'll be there myself but hoping not to need the medical tent this year! 😁

I'm going too and literally just packing five random dresses and one pair of shoes. Trousers aren't really practical with the toilets.

EachandEveryone · 19/06/2025 22:29

Yes I need to figure out where the medical tent is in relation to our glamping. Im lying here with my feet up dosed up on ketamine! I hope I don’t get addicted to the bloody thing.

I can’t beleive I need another toilet bag there must be five in my flat and I can’t find one!

The medical tent is right at one end of the site, up the hill from the pyramid stage. It's fairly near gate b so glamping wise it's near Tangerine Fields base camp and not that far from love fields at gate c. It's a trek from worthy view or sticklinch which are the other end of the site. Obviously there are many other glamping providers but those are the ones that I could think of off the top of my head.

writingandspelling · 20/06/2025 13:43

I've posted a map with the medical tent circled but it will take a while to be reviewed

EachandEveryone · 20/06/2025 13:56

Near the flushing toilets? Yes we are in love Fields. Thanks for that. Are you going?

OP posts:
writingandspelling · 20/06/2025 14:17

I don't think the flushing toilets have been there for a few years but yes up in that kind of area.

And yes, I will be going (yay) . Some of our group will be at Love Fields but I'm aiming for Cockmill Meadow with my 12 year old.

I hope you're able to have a great time.

EachandEveryone · 20/06/2025 19:27

I hope I don’t run anyone over on my scooter!

OP posts:
writingandspelling · 20/06/2025 20:27

😂 I'm sure it'll be fine.

EachandEveryone · 22/06/2025 18:33

I’ve literally got my whole wardrobe out on the bed and it just feels so boring! It’s me though because i can’t walk much I think I’ll end up wearing black cargo trousers or yoga pants. Just need some sparky tops

Watermelonsregularly · 22/06/2025 18:41

Without meaning to be a downer make sure you and people you are with have what3words app. Can make a big difference getting medical attention if needed.
Have the best time.
I would go with harem pants too, v comfortable to sleep in also

EachandEveryone · 22/06/2025 23:47

We have the map on the app and your friends add you I think that’s similar. One friend will be with my at all times. We will see how it goes. I can always leave if it’s too much. It’s my foot getting swollen throughout the day which is very limiting.
