Wide fit comfortable sandals that don't burn my soles!

I am after a wide fitting pair of sandals (or adjustable sandal), that are comfy on the soles of feet. I have leather soles in my current ones and they burnt my feet today from rubbing.

Ideally something sort of stylish and good for walking. I've heard good things about saltwater, and teva, but not sure if they're good for wide feet. Thanks!

Teva are amazing. I have wide feet and can wear them all day everyday without any issues at all. They completely adjust and don't rub

I have saltwater which are comfy width wise and I have feet so broad they're almost square. However I have the very very flat ones and they are not good for my arches. I had visions of being able to look a little more chic at night with my saltwaters on but in reality on holiday I wore them to and from the beach and that was as much as my tight calves and soles could cope with.

I ended up wearing a pair of Moshulu sandals which are very good for wide feet, they are cork and leather Birkie style ones.

My feet are a size 7 but 10.5cm wide and Tevas are the only sandals I wear.

Thanks everyone! Do you all have the original tevas or the slim ones? I have bunions so would probably prefer the original ones

Saltwater are great but I can’t walk as far in them as I could ten years ago. I’ve had several pairs in that time but recently started to struggle more with how flat they are.

I know these aren’t very stylish but they’ve really made a difference to my feet. I managed to get huge blisters on the soles of my feet last year in Spain, I’d walked a long way in very flat leather sliders. The blisters have left a sore, constantly rough patch on one foot. I feared never finding sandals I could wear again as so many have no cushioning at all. These have been fab:

I have high arches so maybe I should avoid saltwater. These Hotter ones in black are lovely!! Always thought Hotter were for a certain generation but I love them, thanks!

Merrell sandals are supportive and comfortable though not beautiful

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 17/06/2025 18:36

@Natasha198your comment has made me feel better about wearing them! I’ve been a bit self conscious because of where they are from.

They are soooo comfortable though.

The fact that I like them and don’t think they look too tragic doesn’t stop DH calling them my ‘catalogue shoes’ 🙄

Loiste · 17/06/2025 18:43

Teva hurricane, men's version for even wider fit!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 17/06/2025 18:48

another vote for Teva. I have some that I wore to death on holiday last year. I have some nicer looking air&grace for evening though. Both very comfortable and adjustable.

AgainstTheOddsNo2 · 17/06/2025 20:20

Pavers are everyday comfy.

Sketchers are great for proper walking

SchrodingersKitty · 18/06/2025 11:44

Tevas all the way for me too. Been wearing them for decades. Just this minute taken delivery of my 7th pair. I prefer the higher ones to the originals as they give more separation from the pavement for long days walking. I like the flatforms, but there is a very limited colour range so I mostly have midforms. My new pair are tan studded leather and have a soft suede-like/suede top layer - SO comfortable. They are not the most elegant things but they strike a good balance between walkability, comfort, and minimalism.

dragonfliesanddandelions · 18/06/2025 21:30

I have wide feet and love both Teva and Salt-water. Teva are my go to for longer walks and more casual wear. I used to wear the original universals but recently got a pair of midforms and there's no going back. They are so comfortable!

I wear Salt-water if I want to look a little smarter. They feel tight when new but if you get them wet and then wear them until they are dry they will stretch to a perfect fit. They are very flat though which some people won't find comfortable. I have the ones with the thinner sole and you do feel it when walking on hard ground.

KnickerlessParsons · 18/06/2025 21:43

Try Pavers. They aren’t cutting edge fashion but they are very comfy.

Yes, same here. I can't imagine wearing any other brand for casual sandals anymore tbh. Been wearing them for a few years now after recommendations on MN!
