Frizzy nape hair?

My hair gets really frizzy at the nape. If I wear a pony (which I do most days) I get a big frizz ball underneath it.
I get a lovely sleek pony and then a mess at my neck.
Any suggestions for products to smooth it?

Could you just comb some wax/gel through the underside once it’s up to kind of stick the shorter nape hairs in place but not add grease to the rest of your hair?
