Bras have started hurting for unknown reason

I am 53 years old, a dress size 12-14 and bra size 36 (ish) C. I switched from wearing normal 'do up at the back', underwired bras to bralettes, and found them to be much more comfortable.

However, recently they've started to really dig in around my rib cage even though I haven't put on weight (in fact lost it) and nothing about me has changed. Even when I buy a bigger size they still dig in.

Has anyone had this problem and found a comfortable bra?
