What are everyone’s thoughts on ‘bespoke’ skincare?

Just as the title really. I’ve heard about various different companies offering ‘bespoke’ skincare - Skin and Me, Dermatica, Klira etc - and wondered if anyone has tried them out and what you think about them.

I thought I’d give Klira a go because that’s the main one I’d heard of and because they use a treatment with tret in it where they gradually up the dosage. It appealed to me because I’ve wanted to use tret for a while to see if it will help with the faint wrinkles on my forehead, but was too nervous to go into it gung ho, as I’ve heard loads of stories of people saying it made their skin worse and really sensitive.

I got my first Klira monthly batch delivered today, so will try it tonight and report back. Apparently I’ll see results in about 12 weeks, so I’ll see how it goes. Also, I’m not a fan of the £65 monthly cost, so will probably stick it out for 3 months and see if I can go on to something else instead.

For reference, I’m early thirties and have listed my current routine below:

AM: LRP Toleriane cleanser, Avene hydrance moisturiser, SPF (Soltan mini SPF50 sunscreen)

PM: LRP Toleriane cleanser, No 7 Protect and Perfect serum (sometimes), LRP dermallergo
night cream, and the idea with the Klira skin treatment is I’ll put it on after cleansing.

No it's the place I go to for facial procedures. They carry out botox, fillers, etc.
I can't remember the site I bought my tret from on line but it was fairly simple to order..!!

Ah, right.
Interesting, thanks.

In the UK? I didn't realise you could get it here without a prescription.
I've read about buying it online from Spain and India but wasn't sure how safe that would be.
When you say "local medical treatment centre" do you mean a GP practice? That's the local place I get medical treatment from.

Yes I get it from an online store based in India

Right - interesting.
Would you mind telling me which one? I'd prefer to do something like that with a personal recommendation if possible.
No offence will be taken if you'd rather not say Smile

Very dangerous. The first may be OK. Subsequent deliveries most likely will not be.

There is a very good reason why you need a prescription in the UK and it can only be prescribed by a consultant dermatologist. If there wasn't, chemists would sell it over the counter.

Why, after all the programmes and news on TV people still pay out good money for rubbish.

I will follow that with a ps.

It is likely that your doctor could sign you off for taking POMs without consulting him/her.

I've used skin+me pretty much from when they first started. If you have sensitive skin you do have to be careful with Tretinoin. My skin is usually OK, but once I got it up to 0.03% my skin started getting sore and flakey, I contacted the customer care team abd they sent me out another doser at a lower strength striaghtaway free if charge. My skin still felt a bit sensitive so I lowered the strength again the following month. I stuck at 0.024 for about a year then slowly went back up to 0.03 where Im sticking. It is expensive but I try to share my code as it gets you £10 discount. I do use my doser every day but I still get more than a month from my doser, I think there's about 3 extra days.
Here's my code for 1st and 5th month free just £3.50 p&p (it gets me £10 off)

Have you tried washing your face morning and evening, using a clean face cloth, in cold water and letting it dry naturally in the air?

It might work for you better than chemicals. It is free, worth a try?

While you are waiting for it to arrive, why not try washing your face morning and evening in cold water, with a fresh face cloth and leaving it to dry naturally in the air? I have done this for years.

Thank you whoever used my code. Much appreciated 💐
