What else to wear with these trousers?

I liked these trousers, so bought the whole outfit because I have no clue about fashion. I'd like some ideas of what I else I can wear with them. Smart casual - for the office (15 yr sahm returning to work, so totally out of date with everything).

Don't want my belly on show, so like how the shirt in the picture hides it. Ditto armpits/upper arms do not need to be on show, can't get away with a tank top any more!

(Until now I've been wearing jeans plus a long sleeved blouse/shirt over a vest top. Cardigan or jumper if required. Trainers or DM's.)

I like the boxy shape of the shirt and think it's quite forgiving over tummies. The trousers are a good shape as well. Sounds as though you just need some tweaks tbh, but I'm too old to advise! You've made a good start though.

I love the shape of those trousers @TeenagersDontWearCoats where are they from? I’d also style them with white trainers, white t shirt send a denim jacket or sandals with a white vest top and a light weight shortish cardigan

I wore it as in the picture today, with a dark denim jacket over the top. I can't wear the same thing every day though! I'm in the office three days a weeks, so need to have something similar but different! Can you wear black with brown?

I wouldn't unless it was a lighter caramel and it could be a wintry look. Block colours are good and most of them (apart from dark brown or navy) go with black. Soft yellow seems popular and I always like the 'ice-cream colours' - raspberry, pistachio, mango etc. Now you've found a trouser shape you like, do they do it in navy or khaki? Mix and match tops and bottoms and develop a work uniform?

I prefer brown or navy with black than pastel colours. So it's really down to personal preference and what you have or see that you like.

I need a colour & fabric that won't show sweat! It's 31 degrees and I am quite literally melting 🫠 thanks perimenopause...

Same. Dark colours look better than higher contrast bright or pastel colours with black to me. Navy, mid to dark brown, khaki, burgundy, dark grey, and dark green are all good.

Bit wintry though?

I’m no fashionista, I tend to buy clothes I like and don’t really know if they actually suit me at all!
where is the outfit from? You might find some inspiration on there, I’d probably wear a loose shirt tucked in but as I say, you don’t really want to take my advice!

In linen or a light cotton, could be fine for summer.
