Every wedding guest dress is so unforgiving!

Who the hell is the market for all these satin on-the-bias dresses which surely you need a flat muscular stomach for? I feel like at least 1/3 of the dresses I'm seeing are this shape - is there really such a demand for these dresses?! I just want an unfussy empire line / fit and flare so I can actually eat! Need to learn to sew.

Some lovely empire line dresses on John Lewis. Various brands and materials and some reduced.

I wore a lovely Alice Temperley silk jumpsuit to my goddaughter's wedding. It is very comfortable, not a pain if you need the loo and looks elegant.
Not sure if they are still available, but mine was the Heron in navy. This was high summer, August.
Wore it again at my mother's funeral with a Hobbs cotton and cashmere jacket.
IMHO dresses at wedding are a little "passe" and not really reusable.
If you want to wear a dress, why not go for a rental?

Dresses at a wedding are passé? Really?

Vinted! Get away from what’s ‘fashionable’ right now and find gorgeous shapes that you know flatter you

Agree and I get most of my clothes on vinted, but nervous about spending more than about £15 on something i won't be able to return. But yes I am trawling through vinted on a daily basis 🥲
