I've got fat upper arms and nothing to short please. Can't afford a huge amount of money either!

You may be overthinking it! I'mon my third graduation ceremony, and most people just wear standard summer dresses, rather than something you may call an "outfit". So, a dress, with mid sleeves, midaxi length. I have lots from Fat Face and Nobody's child. Quite a few in the sale at the moment.

This thread is from last year and might give you some ideas. I don’t think ceremony dresses change much from year to year, just make sure you can stay on your feet for a long time!
If you want to hide your arms I think long wide sleeves gathered at the cuff look great.

What did you wear for your DC’s graduation?! | Mumsnet

It’s in July so will be (hopefully) warm, but I’m not sure how smart to go?! Looking for some inspiration for people who have been to one recently!

Graduations are really casual now ime, clean and tidy and you'll be fine. Comfy shoes as depending where it is there can barely lots of walking. Birkenstocks and trainers with summer dresses seemed to be the in thing last time I went to one which was last year. Dh wore a light coloured suit and if he'd worn a tie he would've been over dressed. I wore cropped linen trousers and a top and Birkenstocks, nice jewellery and bit more make up than usual and felt absolutely fine. Have a lovely day 😊
