I can’t get Huggie hoops in - is there a knack?

Bought some graduated Huggies from Rachel Jackson and I can’t get them to come out of the hole at the back. Is there a trick to Huggies - I’ve tried and tried!

Have you got big ear lobes? They are very small, they fit my lobes but I've seen reviews saying they don't fit and ears do vary in size!

ive never thought so before, but maybe I have! I’ll have to add fat ear lobes to my list of body insecurities 😂

in all seriousness, I can’t figure out what else it might be - I can get it in fine but can’t get it out the other side. It’s so annoying!

I’ve had this before, just have to spend a while wiggling the earring and it’ll eventually come through. I’ve also tried putting it through backwards to make sure the hole is open, or poke a normal ear ring through just beforehand.

I can fit my left Huggie using my right hand but can never get the right one in using my right hand....when I use my left hand it seems to go in easier. Usually by the time both are in my ears are red and sore. I'll also add fat lobes to my insecurities.

I get my DD to put them in - she's good at it and it seems the only way for me..

I really struggled to get mine in the first time. I think because there was so little gap for the earlobe. In the end, I wore them back to front the first couple of times and then must have got better as I can now do it fairly easily with them the right way around.

Oh god I thought it was just me being cackhanded!! 🤯

Like a PP, I can get the left one in using my right hand, but simply cannot get the right one in however I try!

I’ve tried poking a normal earring in first (no issues there) and putting a normal earring in ‘backwards’ to try and ‘prime’ the hole a bit. But nothing! My ear becomes sore and red.

I think others are right…even the most normal sized lobes are too big for these…I feel it should be made very clear on websites and in stores that they are not for the ‘fat of lobe’!

I am doubly pissed off as mine were very expensive diamond hoop huggies! 😩

There's one side I always have to put in at an angle, or that's what it feels like - as if rather than going through my ear from front to back, it's going from the front of my head to the back of my head.

Ancasta · 10/06/2025 09:08

I got them in! Went through the back hole first, then came at it from the front and did the wiggle. It bloody hurt but they’re in!

The holes in your ears are straight and huggie hoops posts are curved, so it can take a bit of wriggling.
