Linen or bamboo dress for European trip

I am spending 3 weeks in Spain and France this summer and I am trying to do it with the 5,4,3,2,1 method (5 tops, 4 bottoms, 3 dresses, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 swimsuit), obviously I am also packing pjs and bras/knickers.
I have 2 very similar black maxi dresses, one is bamboo and one is linen with pockets, but has lost some color and is looking a bit faded. Would you bring the faded with pockets, or bamboo no pockets?
Any other tips for packing so minimally?
Thanks!

I’m not a fan of linen dresses or trousers for travelling as it can look really rough on 2nd/3rd day of wear so I’d go with the bamboo.

Bring 2 swimsuits - one to be drying between swims. It’s a misery putting on a cold, damp swimsuit!

My packing is based on all my clothes working with the same pair of shoes. If I have to pack light, I bring one pair (wear them) and if I have space or need a second pair (either for a dressy event, or changeable weather) I pack a second pair as well.

I travel wearing long trousers, a jacket, and the bulkier shoes. Depending on the destination I’ll want either two long trousers or two pairs of shorts, three t shirts, two maxi dresses, a light cardigan that works with everything, a shirt (if it’s baking and I need the coverage of long sleeves and a collar). Two nude bras, more knickers than I think I should need. No whites or darks so I can wash everything together. I’d bring two swim suits (one to be drying while I swim in the other), something to put over the swimsuit to walk to and from the pool, and one light microfibre towel. If I’m packing super light I’d bring a large light scarf instead of the cardigan and pool cover up, and use it as a bag too if necessary,

I’m not very sweaty and can get away with wearing things two or three times. We usually stay in places with laundry facilities but I’d probably bring an extra bottom and another two tops if it was a city break in hotels.

Thanks for the advice.
I was thinking 2 swimsuits but I really wanted to try to stick to this packing plan. In the end, I probably will pack 2. One of my dresses is actually a beach cover up, and one of my tops is a loose, thin cardigan that works with everything (I may sneak in an extra tank top). I also have a Turkish towel that works as a sarong / scarf, which is not included in my list above.
My second pair of shoes are flip flops that look like proper sandals, so I think I will be ok.
