Jeweller who can turn a silver ring into a pendant

I have a fabulous, massive turquoise and silver ring, but I'd like to turn it into a pendant.

Does anyone know of a jeweller who can do this? (preferably online, and I post the item - rather than in person.) And for a fair price, as the piece is sentimental rather than valuable, so I can't justify spending hundreds on it.

Could you wear it as a scarf ring, with a discreet safety pin to keep it in place?
A bit like this but with the scarf in only one colour.

Oh, that's a nice idea, thank you!
I might try it in the interim.

Long term, I'd like it on a chain though, it's basically a large round disc with turquoise in the centre, and a ring shank stuck on the back, so it would be a great pendant and I'd wear it much more.

It should be fairly easy to do but I would strongly recommend you take it to a jeweller in person. Most jewellers do repairs and they can assess it and give you a price.

Came on to say exactly this. I’ve had several pieces of jewellery remodelled by a local jeweller and a couple of times I’ve gone in with an idea which seems a simple fix to me but he’s explained why it can’t be done and suggested a different way to get the same effect. I’d definitely try and find someone local to you to talk through what you want and get pricing.

Agree with PP. Shop local for the best expertise, always.

I've tried everywhere local, and no-one does remodelling... I'll have to go into the nearest city, which is trickier than it should be at the moment. 😬

Loads.

Look on Instagram for jewellers who show videos of their work. Or look for classes? They definitely do remakes!

The Canny Goose is a woman I've done classes with in Cornwall

Others I follow who do remakes:

There also Ruth in Ayrshire (she's on Fb) - my mum is doing some pretty advanced classes here now, and Ruth has resized my wedding ring for me:
