Long t-shirt and cheap leggings

I'm just starting to go to the gym regularly and am not proud of my shape!

Where do you recommend that I buy cheap leggings and the sort of length t-shirt that would well and truly cover my bum please?! I can't wear strappy tops yet.

Thank you

I wear the sports t shirts for matalan. About £9 a go and are long enough to cover a multitude of sins!

leggings you need sports leggings and I recommend sports direct but I also wear Tu ones.

Ti also have some really nice lightweight gym jumpers that are so soft atm. A little more pricey at £24 but imo well worth it.

The most important thing is a decent high impact sports bra.

I like matalan leggings. I have several pairs of their cropped leggings. I also have a few of their longline tops and also like their sports socks

I need industrial strength sports bras so I get them from the boobydoo website (panache ultimate underwired)

Try the charity shops near you for your kit.

I always buy these leggings off Amazon. They always get recommended on here. They have light compression and side pockets. They stay up really well. I’ve been buying them for years and the wash really well.

They aren’t cheap but I wouldn’t say they are mega expensive either (compared to sweaty Betty etc) but Adanola leggings are £40 but they are absolutely brilliant and really flattering. I would invest in them rather than cheap leggings that will fall down while your working out etc..

You could try joggers. I get them from Primark or Poundland in the men’s section. They are more forgiving than leggings but comfy as anything. I also just wear a baggy black top an d tuck it in.

A good sports bra was a complete game changer for me. Knowing that there would be no escapees, really allows you to give it your all.

Evans has some longer t shirts. They're quite cheap too. I just ordered a yellow v neck one for £15.

Shop in the men's section of primark for a tshirt they are thick long and wash well just feel them first occasionally they throw some thin shitty ones in then when you want to upgrade they make good dusters

Zooeyzebra · 28/05/2025 00:17

I would spend a bit more on leggings. Cheap ones can sometimes be see through when you bend or squat. More expensive ones are also more supportive and a bit thicker so you feel more covered and confident.
A good sports bra will also make a huge difference

Xl mens t-shirts from asda or sainsburys always cover the essentials in leggings. I usually get them in the sale section online. When they get tatty they make good nightshirts for colder nights. Afraid style and beauty have gone out the window for me it's plain old comfort I want now😂

I wear an old pair of black Primark joggers that I have had for years! They are so comfortable. I also have a couple of old black Primark t-shirts that are very long and cover a multitude of sins.
