saw them in TK maxx on Saturday for £20 but sadly a size too small - they are great !

My2Monkeys · 20/05/2008 22:17

I got two pairs last year for about £10 each - one lime green, one lilac, both still work great this year. Frankly, they're so comfortable that I don't care if they're "wrong"!

Gobbledigook · 21/05/2008 10:17

I have black patent birkies on right now - they are fabbo.

And my plum patent ones have just arrived in the post

Pinkjenny · 21/05/2008 14:00

I have just bought a pair of White Birkies. SO comfy, I love them. Now, do I buy a pink leather pair or the red patent?

And do I need two pair?

Tutter · 21/05/2008 14:01

i believe that "birkenstock" is a style oxymoron in itself

Gobbledigook · 21/05/2008 17:27

Pinkjenny - buy both.

I've got silver, bronze, black patent and plum patent and I need a white pair. Got the black patent for £14 in Costco though and got the plum ones from ebay (new - still £26 with postage).

i'm tuck between the hot pink ones and the silver myself, can only have one pair and can't decide.

nancy75 · 21/05/2008 21:48

i have normal leather ones and patent ones, the patent pair ripped my feet to shreds, so never get worn.

VanillaPumpkin · 21/05/2008 21:51

I have white patent Molina ones. They are LOVELY! (ebay )
I also have black floral ones, pink floral ones, and ice blue ones. I now want some golden brown ones and the plum patent which looks lush!!! You can't have too many .
Green pesto is a lovely colour too but sadly not good for my skin tone......

VanillaPumpkin · 21/05/2008 21:52

Oh and the patent chocolate ones are nice too. My friend has black patent Gizeh ones and they oddly look quite smart...

Gobbledigook · 22/05/2008 08:03

Vanilla - I have my plum patent ones on today with dark jeans a white 'kaftan' type shirt - looks blardy marvellous!

bTW, have had no foot injuries from wearing birkenstocks - patent or normal.

Twinkie1 · 22/05/2008 08:09

I have 14 pairs and am off to Costco to check if they have anymore exciting colours this weekend!

I even have a birkenstock tan line already and will be wearing nothing else until at least October!

Gobbledigook · 22/05/2008 12:02

Ha ha, my tan line is just starting to show Twinkie.

Must go to costco to see if they have white...

Loving my purple ones today, they look fab.

flowerybeanbag · 22/05/2008 12:04

I have ordered some patent black ones and some (non patent) white ones after seeing this thread.

I have some khaki gizehs that I love but having to rethink my usual toe-post/flip flop-based summer footwear due to a recent foot injury, so I'm hoping these will do the trick!

Wheelybug · 22/05/2008 12:12

I have just got black patent and I'm not too sure aobut them as concerned they look a bit plasticky.... however, people keep commenting favourably on them so guess they're fine !! Also have dirty silver and white,

DforDiva · 22/05/2008 12:51

thanks everyone, just been out and bought patent black for bargain price 19.99 from tkmaxx.
they had petulla? one in white, silver, floral but not my size.

VanillaPumpkin · 22/05/2008 13:09

Was it Betula or Papillo? All made by Birkenstock I believe.

Gobbledigook at your plum ones. They are just my colour.

Flowerybeanbag - I have one pair of Gizehs but actually prefer the Florida style best. Very comfortable and secure but thinner straps so a bit more feminine (!) than the trad multi strap style (Arizona?).

They are just the best sandals for me as they support my rolling heels . I love them.

wasabipeanut · 22/05/2008 13:11

Ooooh plum patent - sounds good. I work just round the corner from the Birkenstock shop in Covent Garden so may have to add to my collection.

Just don't get me started on Crocs.

DforDiva · 22/05/2008 13:12

yepp, betula ones were white, pink, gold, silver. pappillo one was floral.
not good with names

VanillaPumpkin · 22/05/2008 13:44

I would like all of those
