What have you bought from Hush this season?

I bought a dress I loved in the sale earlier this year, which fitted perfectly until I washed it (very carefully, in accordance with instructions). It shrunk a lot, so I reluctantly returned it. I now have a £46 voucher to use in the next 5 months but I’m just not very inspired by anything in their summer collection. I might hang on until their sale, but what should I look out for? I like some of their trousers but I’m tall so they are unlikely to fit. Have you bought anything you’ve loved from Hush recently?

I brought some cargo barrel leg trousers from Hush which faded after 1 wash, again with careful washing. I should have returned them really, but instead have resorted to just wearing them in the house.

Their knee length linen shorts. I absolutely hate short shorts and finding nice knee length ones are hard.

Oh and a thin cotton sweatshirt with gathering at the shoulders. Really
nice for dressing up or down.

Love their jumpsuits, usually get them on sale or pre owned on Vinted though!

I also like their jumpsuits and bought one (in the sale) a couple of years ago, but it has also shrunk! I can still wear it but the leg length (which was quite generous) is now too short 🙁

I have a lot of hush mostly bought on vinted but their fabrics are getting very difficult to launder properly because everything seems to shrink or change texture the minute it sees water. Even the jeans which I love are harder to wash because they’re no longer 100% denim and an inch shorter is a big deal if you’re on the taller side

I haven't bought anything from Hush in a long time. Our local John Lewis had a Hush section and I have found the quality has gone down recently. I tried on a couple of dresses which were shapeless and disappointing. I bought a lightweight sweatshirt in the charity shop which is good and washes well, and I have a wide legged glittery jumpsuit which I bought in the sale on impulse a long time ago which I'm going to have revamped into an evening dress. It's not somewhere I automatically look at now.

I used to buy there all the time but I didn't like their change in catalogue style that had a lot of weird manifesto like but meaningless text. The clothes are dull and never fit. I used to be able to order a 10 and know it would fit me as a size 12 but the sizing is all to cock now.

I wish they'd sort it out. I used to love their clothes and my old stuff is still going.

Most of my wardrobe is from Hush but I gave up when they started charging for returns. They've always had a problem with fabric quality and I NEVER wash their clothes according to the instructions on the labels. I always wash them on a more delicate cycle and often use a hand wash cycle. Even recently, I got caught out because DH did some washing after we got back from holiday. Result = one of my favourite tops is now shrunken and mis-shaped. He did follow the instructions, it's Hush's fault not his, I'm just sad because I'd managed to keep that top in perfect condition by only ever washing it on a hand wash cycle and now it's unwearable.

I also have a gorgeous cardigan from them. I say gorgeous, it was for the first few wears then it started to look like an old rag even before it even had its first wash.

So I've given up. I stuck with them for years despite the quality issues, because their clothes fit me well and I like the style, but I'm not paying for returns when you're pretty much forced to order several sizes, because of their all over the place sizing, and never know if something that looks great online is going to be terrible quality in real life.

A perfect white cotton shirt is a relaxed fit

IamwhoIsayIam · 22/05/2025 12:59

I'm never buying from Hush again. Jeans that wore through and ripped at the knees within a few wears, cuffs coming off sweatshirts, a jumper that had pulled out of shape before even being washed. Nothing I have bought from them recently has lasted more than a few wears.

lindyloo57 · 22/05/2025 16:40

they have a gorgeous cream/ beige edge to edge cardigan i love but at £90, now I would worry about shrinking after reading this thread

Chewbecca · 22/05/2025 16:45

I love my Hush sweatshirts, they have good shape and length for me.
However, the most recent one is rose brown and the colour bleeds with every single wash, I keep thinking it must be fast by now but it still isn't. Slightly annoying.

Jobwelldone · 22/05/2025 17:07

I agree that the quality of the fabrics has decreased and not worth the price tag given the poor quality and finish.

I have a lot of Hush items but last years purchases started to look very sad after only a few wears and washes. Such a shame.

However I bought just one l/s stripe top which I love & looks ok after the first wash on a cool cycle.

Just a slub vest. Don't buy much from them.anymore as too £££ for what you get
