Interesting interview here with Patrick. I've long been a fan of his approach to clothing, although my wardrobe is vast compared to his! I buy a lot of natural fibre clothes on Vinted but haven't invested in his Community Clothing products yet.

I have a CC top which I love. The quality is excellent. I have bought the socks as gifts and they have had great feedback.

His book is interesting and very thought provoking, I haven't bought from CC because I am on a mission to not add to my already huge clothing collection. There are definitely some sobering messages to take on board from what he says.

Personally I am not sure that I could ever just have a wardrobe with a range of very basic well made items in it. He is a bloke, and that makes a difference. For me there are nights out when I want to dress up, special occasions, or days at work when I want to stand out a bit. What I won't do is buy from super cheap stores and probably the most important thing that I intend to do is massively reduce the amount of clothing I buy.

The other thought that I took away from his book is how infrequently any of us wear or use an item until it falls apart or wears out, all credit to you if you do. I am definitely taking that on board, the thought of my unwanted clothing being shipped abroad and dumped is a very uncomfortable one.

I gave dp a jumper from CC and it was a huge success, he wears it a couple of times a week, looks great. I bought him some jeans which were an error, ironically because they were too fashion-focused in shape. I’ve recently bought myself a jumper and absolutely love it, would definitely buy other things again. I don’t buy all that many clothes though probably more than I think I do, and I like wearing things for years, so it suits me. Ds wears things long term as well.
