Bum covering swimsuit

Where are they all?
Every single cozzie I’ve tried this year is cut so high on the leg - cutting across my bum cheeks on the diagonal, leaving half my backside on display and no one by the pool needs to see my HRT patch and beyond. I don’t want it all hanging out.
Can anyone recommend any one piece costumes or bikini bottoms that will contain my bottom please? I’m short, size 10, pear shape, with a relatively small waist and I carry my weight on my hips - hence the question.
Thank you!

I’ve just had the same problem trying to find a swimming costume with full coverage - I don’t want my arse cheeks on display to all and sundry, and equally don’t want to see anyone else’s. I ended up going for a retro style boyleg shape tankini with a halterneck.

Can you link to one you have tried? They are all cut so differently it is very frustrating.

im assuming you want a regular leg not a short style

Do not, under any circumstances but from an online company called Meet.Curve, I thought their costumes were exactly what I was searching for. Unfortunately what purports to be a UK company has an incredibly dodgy returns policy (see trustpilot) I am going through my banks procedure at the moment to get a refund.

On a positive note, after an extensive swimsuit search for a costumes that cut a lower leg, the best I found were Asda, Bonmarche (which surprised me), and Next. Tesco do a good swimskirt which could potentially go over any costume, but their costumes were all too high cut for my preference.

Yes, I find Bonmarche ones good too, and cheaper than Lands End. But avoid Asda - even the ones that look like a standard cut are not comfortable!

I tried that one on but had to return it as I am not a contortionist.

I have resorted to a Speedo rash vest and swim shorts. Not the most exciting of outfits but I am an odd shape - like many of the others appear to be in the pool with costumes trying and failing to contain busts or rear ends.

😂Herberty. I always order a couple of sizes up in Speedo. The one I have is 3 sizes up and is very slightly loose but easy to get on and lasted very well. I can't be bothered with swimming costume wrangling and they are full of lycra.

I have kept Royal Mail afloat ordering swimwear . I tried the two, three and four sizes too big approach as I love the suit but just don't have the flexibility to get it on without a trip to A&E to put a joint back in.

With larger sizes the short section was to the knee and the top section was verging on arrest for indecency - just glad some are able to get it on as it was exactly what I wanted.

I comfort myself that my shorts and rash vest may look a bit staid but at least I am not at risk of frightening children at the pool.

Thanks everyone - can’t reply to everyone individually but yes it’s more of a ‘regular cut’ than a shorts-y one I’m after. There’s some good suggestions on here though, thank you.

I'm being bombarded with Cupshe ads, but am a bit worried they’re SHEIN for swimwear - are they decent?

@fatgirlswims I’ve tried a couple from Boden, next and M&S. no joy. I just can’t judge from the internet/hanger.

@Saltysea2001 yes please to that vintage M&S and I even like the criss crossy bit too.

Sizing up gives me a baggy frontage which is possibly worse than showing my bum cheeks!

I’ll follow up with a few of the suggestions on here but am thinking I’ll just have to suck it up and tuck it up whilst on the lounger, and grab a sarong when I’m mooching about !

I have the same problem all bikini bottoms I wear end up being eaten by my arse so it looks like I’m wearing a thongkini but I have good luck with m&s bikinis. They have wider cut ones on the front and back so the whole bun is covered and don’t have to worry about hairs or anything sticking out since they’re wider cut on the front

FourBlackCats · 18/05/2025 16:45

It’s so irritating - even the sports brands are doing a lot of really high cut ones at the moment. I don’t want boyleg or shorts, I just want a ‘normal’ high leg. Might have to try Lands’ End.

BingoBling · 18/05/2025 17:22

I've bought costumes from Zoggs and Fatface, both have been fine.

Londonmummy66 · 18/05/2025 18:03

I second this one - I've had a lot of compliments when I've worn it.

You mention being short. I found this made finding a swimsuit that fitted a real challenge.

Try Two part swimwear! Tankini and swim shorts - try Speedo, white stuff, decathlon

Halocline do low leg swimsuits as well as tankini with swim shorts.
Have used them for years.
Excellent company, excellent products.

I bought a swimming costume from Halocline a couple of months ago and was very disappointed in it - did not seem to be cut for anyone with a bust!

Decathlon seems to be much better for me.

I have the tugless swimsuit from Lands End but I got it on special offer. Keep looking on Landsend for reductions. It’s absolutely fantastic for me with my large norks which bounce up and down alarmingly during Aquafit in any other costume. I am short but it’s fine. I did have to go up a size though. While ai was returning yet another swimsuit to Sainsbury’s the assistant agreed they had gone downhill and also that Cupshe were also rubbish.
