Help! Clothes to return to working at the office!

Help! I've recently secured a Senior job which is very corporate and office based after years working from home.

I need to buy 'work clothes' but have no idea anymore where to look. Due to a slight disability I can't easily wear trousers so it's maxi or midi dresses with a jacket or suits (can't wear knee length!)

This criteria is so limited that combined with being out of touch with which shops I should even be looking at, I'm really struggling. I'm a size 14 ish so not skinny either and only 5 foot 3.

I'm also aware I'm starting soon so whatever I get needs to be cool enough in hot weather but also still corporate smart.

Please fellow mumsnetters, do you have any suggested shops I should be looking at or even outfit suggestions? I'm starting to wish I'd not taken the job as I'm getting really panicky about clothes.

I've name changed as I'm slightly embarrassed!

@fatgirlswims quite possibly actually as I've never used it. What are your top tips to be aware of or know please?!

Oh its fabulous!

Search a specific term eg “Jigsaw midi dress 14”, play around with search terms.

Find one you like and then check out the seller. Is most of their stuff good quality, in a clean environment?

Can you see at least three pictures of the full front, back and label and any details?

avoid - seller using screenshots from other sellers, sellers with lots of letter and number and a generic profile pic selling lots of the same (fake) items. Sellers with a dirty environment and sellers without full or clear pictures.

if you like it you can add other items from the same seller to create a bundle.

you can offer a price - usually I do one or two pound below. If it’s just been listed it might not get accepted (you can see how long it has been on for). You can favourite items and over time it learns what you like and your feed personalises.

you will pay a fee and postage usually around £5 but it’s a % for the fee.

If you are on instagram Over40overdressed does daily workwear posts which may provide some inspiration

@fatgirlswims thank you so much. It does sound amazing. I think I just need to get better at knowing what size to buy from certain shops. I'm quite excited! This may be my hobby for the commute! 😁

Thank you. I'm on instagram (I think.) I seem to remember one of my teenagers setting me up! 😂
