Anyone got any great shorts for me?

I love shorts in the summer but am uninspired by my M&S linen pairs this year - I have one in black and one in chambray and usually get a lot of wear out of them.

Other than that I have a Passenger pair of with zip pockets that I love.

I HATE Bermuda/knee-length shorts, especially denim ones.

I generally like natural fabrics and plain colours, but I don't mind a stripe or a smallish pattern. I like a paper bag waist or an elasticated band waist (I know, shoot me). I'm not a fan of a drawstring.

What might I like?!

@DidntHaveTheLatin I reckon it's worth checking out Arket shorts more generally - they are not ridiculously short but never grumpy.

I don't find so, they're floaty but they don't puff out if you see what I mean, so they just look like loose shorts :)

Not the sort of waist you’re looking for but organic cotton and sizing is generous, legs can be easily rolled up to change length

I got a cracking linen pair in And Other Stories. Not too long, not too short. So nice I got another colour.

I don’t like the wider leg, flappy shorts as they’re really not flattering on my legs. The best I’ve found this year are the NYJD shorts at John Lewis. Not cheap though.

Uniqlo are good for elastic waist shorts too, have a look at the “easy shorts”.

I’ve got these from H & M, will definitely buy in other colours, they’re a very good smart casual. Also got a lovely linen jacket to wear with them…more taupe than the picture though
