My shins are so dry and my arms too
I am using tan luxe gradual tan (a gift ) and it's not making me as soft as the Weleda skin food bottle someone gave me. I feel leathery. No sun damage. I feel like it's menopause related. I get through tonnes of the stuff and need a decent price
Any recommendations pls?

https://www.boots.com/ted-baker-jasmine-and-lime-blossom-whipped-body-oil-creme-300ml-10342125 I’m using this currently and it’s amazing, doesn’t leave the oily residue but a lovely soft skin, i can use it on my legs, arms etc in bed without worrying about getting the bedding greasy. I will buy it again 100%

Garnier Body Intensive 7 day

Palmers Cocoa Butter formula (the original one in the pump dispenser)

I've used this for a long time. Love it. It's light, not greasy and really hydrating. My post-menopausal skin loves it. It's inexpensive too. We've bought two bottles to take on holiday rather than the usual aftersun as I prefer it.

Shetlands · 16/05/2025 21:32

This one is effective and good value.

I’m gonna say it’s not necessarily about expense it’s about consistency. Use the cheapest or most expensive you can afford. If you don’t do it every day it’s not gonna work.

NeedWineNow · 16/05/2025 21:35

Forgot to mention another good one - Superdrug Vitamin E Body cream in the tub. Again, inexpensive but effective.

Avocadosandlimes · 16/05/2025 21:35

Palmers!

KrazyboutKillian · 16/05/2025 21:37

Aveeno , it’s lovely
not super cheap but not mega expensive either and sometimes on offer
I like their spray oil

HermioneWeasley · 16/05/2025 21:38

I’ve found a dupe for Aveeno lotion. £1.99 for an enormous bottle and I can’t tell the difference . Got it in Poundstretcher

Rosierambles · 16/05/2025 22:01

Oh thanks some good options there. I forgot about good old palmers and love it.
I just haven't had any in a while and a few days of none has me like a lizard

A pp on another thread recommended Nivea Q10 firming body lotion
it’s brilliant stuff, I bought the dry skin version and in about 10 days it’s made a noticeable difference in my crepey inner arms and scaly shins.
i wish I could find the original thread to thank them!

Lidl have own brand Cien Argan Oil body butter for a couple of £ it’s amazing

Thingamebobwotsit · 17/05/2025 07:32

I find Palmers makes my skin worse. Nivea Soft, Body Shop Shea Body Butter, Aveeno, and Garnier 7 day intensive are my go to depending on what I can get and when. Palmers gives me that lizard look... clearly something doesn't agree with my skin.

AltitudeCheck · 17/05/2025 07:35

Applying almond oil to wet /damp skin after each shower works for me.

I use this. I love it and it smells divine.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 17/05/2025 07:39

Garnier Body Repair 24hr Restoring Lotion (with maple leaf). Cheap, comes in a big red bottle. I bought some after I saw it in one of those 'Everyday products that beauticians and make-up experts recommend' type articles. It's really, really good. It's even had an immediate effect on my elbows, which had very dry, darkened skin. It smells nice too.

LetMeGoogleThat · 17/05/2025 10:58

Lidl own brand cocoa butter!

Rosierambles · 17/05/2025 18:06

I've got some Garnier on the way - house bound currently but when I'm out I'll get some of these to try. Lidl is interesting as I hated their original body lotion but maybe the body butter is nice. Hope it arrives soon with another few Amazon items !

Almond oil or coconut oil work well for me too. I buy them from the cooking oil section in supermarkets, cheap and last a long time.
